SAUDI ARABIA – Elm, the digital security firm owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has teamed up with Netherlands-born startup Ancora Health to enhance access to patient-centric services.

Through the strategic deal with Elm, Ancora Health, a Dutch start-up specialising in preventive health and lifestyle therapy, is set to enter the Saudi market with the launch of its wellness initiatives as early as the second half of 2023.

The joint statement said: “Elm and Ancora Health aim to provide preventive health initiatives to Saudi Arabian employers with this partnership.”

Ancora Health is a health tech company that was founded in 2019 by José Castela Forte, Rahul Gannamani and Sridhar Kumaraswamy delivering digital health, wellness, and fitness solutions to clients.

Through its digital offerings, the company gives Ancora programme participants deep insights into their body and mind based on a scientific health check, empowering them to change their health.

Participants can monitor their progress and examine their findings in real-time using an online application.

The Ancora programme provides monitoring tools, digital nudging, and human coaching to make sure users attain measurable changes.

The recent partnership brings together Ancora’s evidence-based approach and world-class capabilities on behavioural health, and Elm’s more than 20 years’ experience as the leading provider of digital solutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In the pilot phase, Elm and Ancora hope to enrol 25,000 workers in these lifestyle initiatives in line with Saudi Arabia’s public health plan aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of its workforces.

Ancora Health plans to launch ground-breaking wellness initiatives for employees and insurance companies across Saudi Arabia, bringing technologies for both treatment and prevention in the region.

Moreover, the partnership will build on the momentum of the Dutch-based startup’s ambitious goal to improve 1 million employees’ livelihoods in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States by 2030.

The collaboration between Elm and Ancora will play a significant role in tackling the growing impact of preventing chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity and heart disease in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In addition to facilitating access to healthcare services, the partnership will help Elm to further cement its position as the top provider of secure services and solutions to both the public and commercial sectors in Saudi Arabia.
