SAUDI ARABIA—- Saudi German Health (SGH), a prominent healthcare provider in the Middle East, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BD Company, known globally for its advanced healthcare solutions.
This partnership aims to revolutionize healthcare services in the region by introducing rapid diagnostic technologies.
This announcement follows SGH Dammam’s securing the prestigious HIMSS Stage 6 Certification for its digital health advancements.
The MoU was formalized at SGH’s headquarters in Jeddah, with Dr. Ahmed Shebl, Group CEO of Saudi German Health, and Riza Mutlak, Business Director at BD for Middle East, North Africa & Turkey, leading the signing.
This collaboration marks the first such initiative in the region, promising to set new benchmarks in healthcare innovation.
By integrating cutting-edge lab technologies like Bactec, Phoenix, Epicenter, and MALDI-TOF, SGH intends to boost its diagnostic capabilities significantly.
These tools will provide quicker and more accurate diagnoses, enhancing patient care across the board.
The primary goal of this partnership is to tackle the challenges in microbiology diagnostics by offering rapid and precise solutions.
For instance, the MALDI-TOF device can quickly identify a variety of pathogens, even those hard to culture, thus speeding up the diagnostic process.
This not only aids in selecting the right antibiotics, reducing the unnecessary use of broad-spectrum ones, but also fights against antibiotic resistance.
Makarem Sobhi Batterjee, Vice Chairman of Saudi German Health, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting how it aligns with SGH’s commitment to providing top-tier patient care under their motto, “Caring Like Family.”
Philippe Villard, Senior Director of Commercial Operations, EMEA at BD, echoed this sentiment, stating that their advanced diagnostic solutions have proven effective elsewhere and are expected to bring similar benefits to Saudi Arabia.
This collaboration is expected to serve over 2 million patients yearly, promising faster diagnosis, better treatment outcomes, and an overall uplift in healthcare quality.
This partnership benefits patients and enhances healthcare providers’ operational efficiency by streamlining diagnostic processes.
