Saudi German Hospital Dammam celebrates breakthroughs in Cardiac Care

SAUDI ARABIA— The CardioScience Department at Saudi German Hospital (SGH) Dammam has marked several significant milestones in the realm of advanced cardiac procedures.

Since the launch of its advanced cardiac services at the beginning of 2024, the department has made impressive strides, highlighting its dedication to enhancing cardiac care and patient outcomes.

One of the standout achievements is the successful completion of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), a procedure that has quickly become a cornerstone of their advanced cardiac offerings.

 This minimally invasive technique is used to replace a narrowed aortic valve, offering a promising solution for patients who are not candidates for traditional open-heart surgery.

In addition to the TAVI success, the department has also achieved notable results with the Ampella-guided high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

This procedure, which is used to treat severe coronary artery disease in high-risk patients, highlights the department’s proficiency in managing complex cardiac cases with precision and expertise.

Moreover, the CardioScience Department has demonstrated its capability in performing cryoablations for atrial fibrillation, a condition characterized by irregular heartbeats.

The successful implementation of this service has provided patients with an innovative treatment option, further solidifying the department’s reputation for excellence in cardiac care.

These remarkable accomplishments have been realized under the expert guidance of Dr. Mohamed Shahtout, Dr. Hamed Al Ghamdi, and Dr. Rami Abu Raad.
