SAUDI ARABIA – King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group (HMG) have signed a health cooperation agreement.

Under the terms of the framework agreement, HMG will establish a state-of-the-art medical center to provide world-class and integrated healthcare services for the city’s residents and visitors.

The proposed medical facility is anticipated to act as the foundation for the development of a tertiary care hospital in the King Abdullah Economic City.

The signing ceremony held at Bay La Sun Business Park in KAEC was presided over by Mr. Cyril Piaia, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Emaar the Economic City (EEC), the master developer of KAEC, and Eng. Abdullah Al-Sudais, CEO of Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Centers, a subsidiary of HMG.

The framework agreement will pave the way for future healthcare sector cooperation between the two parties.

Furthermore, EEC will develop a strategic steering committee to engage the medical group as well as develop and regularly review and assess KAEC’s overall healthcare strategy.

The agreement aims to drive initiatives in public health, enhance the city’s quality of life, and build upon KAEC’s ongoing efforts to engage the Saudi private sector.

In his address, Mr. Cyril Piaia, CEO of EEC, said: “This new partnership with Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group signifies the great significance we place on the healthcare sector at KAEC and reflects our ongoing efforts to improve our growing community’s quality of life.”

King Abdullah Economic City, 100 kilometers north of Jeddah along the coast of the Red Sea, is a modern metropolis and booming tourist destination.

Under the strategic deal with HMG, the master planned city will accelerate growth and consolidate its leading position in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group will play a crucial role in the development of a comprehensive healthcare system to promote high-tech preventive, primary, and secondary care in KAEC.

On his part, Eng. Abdullah Al-Sudais, CEO of Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Centers, stated: “Going forward, the group will continue to build similar partnerships that present a comprehensive healthcare model built around digital innovation.”

The collaboration aligns with the group’s objective of bringing a wide range of healthcare services closer to communities, with higher standards meeting the requirements of modern urban living.

Moreover, the cooperation pact will allow KAEC to further unlock its potential as an emerging destination and a Saudi Vision 2030-ready platform for business, tourism, and living.

The city’s advanced infrastructure, advanced facilities, investor-friendly regulation, and an opportune geographic location presents developers, investors, and operators with a unique opportunity to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s healthcare transformation journey.
