SGH Dammam leads in digital healthcare with HIMSS Stage 6 certification

SAUDI ARABIA—Saudi German Hospital in Dammam (SGH Dammam) has achieved a major milestone in digital healthcare transformation by receiving the esteemed HIMSS Stage 6 Certification.

This accolade, awarded by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), recognizes the hospital’s advanced use of electronic medical records (EMR) and its robust digital infrastructure.

By achieving this certification, SGH Dammam not only reinforces its position as a leader in digital innovation in the Eastern Province but also sets a benchmark for excellence in patient care throughout the region.

Additionally, this achievement follows another notable recognition within the Saudi German Health network.

A few days ago, Saudi German Hospital Jeddah (SGH Jeddah) was honoured as the only private hospital in 2025 to receive a bronze-level award in the Private Healthcare Facilities category at the 7th annual King Abdulaziz Quality Award (KAQA).

This dual recognition across two major facilities highlights the network’s unwavering commitment to quality and innovation in healthcare.

While SGH Jeddah is celebrated for its outstanding performance in quality standards, SGH Dammam is acknowledged for pioneering digital transformation efforts. 

The HIMSS Stage 6 Certification is more than just an award; it is a testament to the hospital’s relentless pursuit of modernizing healthcare delivery.

SGH Dammam has improved its operational efficiency, enhanced clinical workflows, and elevated patient safety standards by integrating cutting-edge digital solutions into everyday clinical practice.
