SharpMinds to Design Expansion of Emirates International Hospital in Al Ain

UAE – SharpMinds Consulting Engineers, a leader in innovative engineering and architectural solutions, has been awarded the prestigious contract to design and supervise the expansion of Emirates International Hospital in Al Ain’s Al Jimi neighbourhood.

This marks a significant milestone in the hospital’s history, as it undergoes its first major expansion since opening in 1993.

Under the new agreement, SharpMinds will lead the design and planning efforts, focusing on creating a patient-centric environment.

The company will also collaborate with US-based MCF Architecture to manage authority approvals, oversee construction, and handle the final testing, commissioning, and handover of the new facility.

 This expansion will not only bring state-of-the-art healthcare technology to Al Ain but will also increase the hospital’s capacity to meet the growing demand for high-quality medical care in the region.

The hospital’s expansion will add over 160 new beds across 40,000 square meters, raising the total capacity to nearly 200 beds.

The new facilities will feature a range of specialized services, including a cutting-edge trauma center, advanced robotics technologies, a longevity clinic, and a genomics and precision medicine department.

The hospital will also offer evidence-based integrative medicine, a comprehensive outpatient department, cosmetology services, advanced rehabilitation, and sports medicine.

Other additions will include a fully-equipped radiology suite, an endoscopy unit, dedicated ICU and Neonatal ICU/Pediatric ICU beds, modern birthing suites, royal patient suites, five advanced operating theatres, and expanded inpatient wards with isolation rooms for critical care.
