INDIA – Siemens Healthcare Private Limited (SHPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Siemens Healthineers AG, has named Hariharan Subramanian as the company’s new Managing Director to drive business growth in the region.
According to Siemens Healthcare Private Limited, the appointment will come into force on Saturday, July 1st, 2023.
Hariharan Subramanian is to take over as the company’s new Managing Director from the previous holder of the role Vivek Kanade.
“He will lead the business for Siemens Healthineers in India including, manufacturing, sales, and distribution strategy for Zone India, which comprises neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Maldives,” the company said in a press release.
Subramanian has been roped in to replace the former executive Vivek Kanade who left the MD role to pursue other revenue-generating business responsibilities within the organization.
Prior to assuming the role of Managing Director, Subramanian has faithfully served the German multinational conglomerate corporation Siemens for over 25 years.
He progressed through multiple leadership positions in Finance, Business Administration, Enterprise Services, and Sales functions across Software engineering, IT Consulting, and Healthcare business.
Before assuming responsibilities of Zone India in May 2023, Siemens elevated Subramanian as the Head of Sales for the Diagnostic Imaging and Advanced Therapy businesses in India.
“He has been leading the team in Zone India towards the common goal of pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare, for everyone, everywhere,” underscored Siemens Healthcare Private Limited.
What’s more, Subramanian led the company’s efforts to ensure advanced therapy becomes more precise and affordable.
It will build on the company’s goals of ensuring value is at the heart of care delivery, patients are treated as consumers, healthcare becomes digital, and in turn, improve access to healthcare.
This leadership change comes as the company strives to help in the fight against life-threatening diseases and expand access to patient care.
Over the past decade, the rapid democratization of information triggered by technological advancements has made businesses more accountable to stakeholders and consumers.
Subramanian’s appointment will play an essential role in Siemens Healthineers’ expansion plans to achieve the future of healthcare.
