Among the key innovations introduced was the MAGNETOM Flow™ Elite, a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner with a 70 cm bore that operates without the need for helium refills.

EGYPT—Siemens Healthineers, a global leader in medical technology, actively participated in Africa Health Excon 2025, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from June 24 to 27 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.

The event attracted key figures in Egypt’s healthcare sector, including Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, and Dr. Hisham Stait, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA), both of whom visited the Siemens Healthineers booth to learn about the company’s latest advancements in artificial intelligence and healthcare technology.

This year, Siemens Healthineers showcased a wide range of digital healthcare solutions, underlining its commitment to driving the digital transformation of healthcare in Egypt and the broader region.

The company operated two dedicated booths: the main booth featured state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional imaging solutions, while a second booth focused on next-generation laboratory diagnostic technologies.

Among the key innovations introduced was the MAGNETOM Flow™ Elite, a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner with a 70 cm bore that operates without the need for helium refills.

This technology not only enhances operational efficiency but also delivers high-quality diagnostic imaging.

Siemens Healthineers also presented the NAEOTOM Alpha.Prime™, the world’s first photon-counting computed tomography (CT) scanner.

Powered by artificial intelligence, this scanner provides exceptional imaging precision, streamlines workflow, and supports clinical decision-making.

Another highlight was the SOMATOM On.site™, a mobile CT scanner with a telescopic design that enables accurate imaging directly in critical care settings such as intensive care units and ambulances.

The company also displayed a comprehensive portfolio of imaging solutions, including the MOBILETT Elara Max™ mobile X-ray system, ACUSON Sequoia™ and ACUSON Juniper™ ultrasound platforms, and molecular imaging mockups of Symbia Pro.specta™ and Biograph Trinion™.

At the Diagnostic Experience booth, Siemens Healthineers unveiled new laboratory innovations, such as the CN-3000 Atellica coagulation analyzer, Atellica HEMA 580 and Atellica HEMA 530 hematology analyzers, the HEMATEK 3000 sedimentation analyzer, and the Atellica CI chemistry analyzer.

These solutions reflect the company’s full-spectrum diagnostic capabilities and its mission to support the development of Egypt’s healthcare system by enabling early disease detection, improving patient outcomes, and expanding access to high-quality healthcare services.

Eng. Amro Kandil, CEO and Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers Egypt, emphasized that the company’s annual participation in Africa Health Excon demonstrates its ongoing commitment to transforming Egypt’s healthcare sector through innovation, strategic partnerships, and capacity building.

Notably, he announced the launch of the region’s first Advanced Imaging Renewal and Enhancement Center in Egypt.

Established in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population and the Unified Procurement Authority, this center will recondition medical equipment to international standards, providing cost-effective solutions that meet Egypt’s healthcare needs.

Furthermore, Siemens Healthineers continues to invest in human capital by expanding the Siemens Healthineers Academy in Egypt.

This academy is set to become a regional hub for education and professional development, serving both Africa and the Middle East.

Kandil highlighted the importance of empowering healthcare professionals to build a sustainable, future-ready healthcare system.

Diaa El-Shennawy, Head of Sales Public Sector, NGOs & Government Affairs, noted that Africa Health Excon offers a valuable platform for collaboration and supports Egypt’s healthcare development priorities.

Siemens Healthineers remains dedicated to delivering advanced medical technologies tailored to Egypt’s unique needs, aiming to improve service efficiency and sustainability.

The company is also playing a key role in supporting national healthcare initiatives, including the Women’s Health Initiative and the Early Detection and Treatment of Cancer Initiative.

Siemens Healthineers is helping to establish a network of specialized stroke centers across the country, offering advanced solutions like the Artis Icono Pro™, already in use at the Ain Shams University Stroke Center to enable faster diagnosis and intervention.

After acquiring Varian, Siemens Healthineers has broadened its portfolio to include advanced cancer treatment and precision medicine solutions.

This expansion further enhances its capability to deliver integrated diagnostic and therapeutic services tailored to the evolving healthcare landscape in Egypt.

Through ongoing innovation, strategic partnerships, local capacity building, and efforts to broaden access to high-quality healthcare, Siemens Healthineers reaffirms its commitment to advancing the sustainability and resilience of Egypt’s healthcare system.
