South Korea’s Asan Medical Center eyes international expansion with new branch in Dubai

UAE – South Korea’s Asan Medical Center (AMC) is expanding its global presence with the launch of a new state-of-the-art gastroenterology hospital in Dubai Healthcare City, the United Arab Emirates.

Asan Medical Center is a general tertiary-care hospital located in Seoul offering a wide range of specialized healthcare services.

Asan Medical Center has expanded its exclusive definitive agreement with Scope Investment to establish Dubai’s first-ever comprehensive gastroenterology hospital christened the Asan GI Hospital-UAE.

The two parties will also explore opportunities for expanding this collaboration beyond gastroenterology and into other medical specialties.

The joint statement said: “We remain committed to delivering the highest quality care by leveraging state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge technology, and a team of world-class professionals.”

Asan Medical Center will provide its esteemed services at the ASAN GI Hospital, aligning with its commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services in the UAE.

The Asan GI Hospital-UAE is designed to cater to persons with various gastrointestinal conditions, including stomach, colon, liver, bile duct, pancreas, as well as pediatric gastrointestinal disorders.

The medical staff will leverage advanced technology to conduct minimally invasive techniques through endoscopy, bariatric surgery for obesity, and deliver surgical interventions for early-stage gastrointestinal cancers,

The Asan GI Hospital-UAE will also offer a wide range of advanced treatments and procedures specifically tailored to deliver specialized care for pediatric patients.

The first-of-its-kind facility in Dubai is projected to increase access to comprehensive gastrointestinal care and accelerate medical innovation in the United Arab Emirates.

The journey towards this groundbreaking endeavor began in 2019 with the collaboration between Asan Medical Center and Scope Investment.

Detailed designs and building specifications have been finalized, and the tendering process to appoint contractors is currently underway.

The new agreement sets a comprehensive framework for cooperation on how Scope Investment and Asan Medical Center will operate and manage the Asan GI Hospital-UAE.

In his address, the Chief Executive Officer of Scope Investment, Fareed Bilbeisi, stated: “This is a transformative alliance that combines our collective expertise, resources, and dedication to deliver exceptional healthcare services.”

The signing of the Operations and Management Agreement signifies an important milestone in furthering the partnership between ASAN Medical Center and Scope Investment.

It is a guide on how the two parties will run this upcoming 65-bed specialized facility dedicated to the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.

The partnership with Scope Investment marks an important step forward in Asan Medical Center’s mission to contribute to healthy lives of humans with unwavering passion.
