INDIA – Tata 1mg, India’s largest digital health platform, is gearing up to launch an anemia awareness campaign targeting underprivileged women in India.

Tata group-owned 1mg, a health technology platform, started its diagnostics services in 2016 by Prashant Tandon, Gaurav Agarwal, and Vikas Chauhan.

The pharmacy firm is focused on online diagnostics and home collection of samples and has third-party partners for radiology tests.

Recently, Tata 1mg entered into a partnership agreement with Veera Health to facilitate the launch of a comprehensive test for diagnosing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Tata 1mg-backed digital diagnostic platform 5C Network acquired India and US-based healthtech startup Krayen for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition of Krayen will help 5C Network to expand its offerings in the field of digital diagnostics.

Through its “#NotJustAWomensDay” campaign, Tata 1mg plans to conduct free, life-saving anemia testing for women in need via a user generation contest.

Tata 1mg will offer a free, life-saving simple blood test – CBC (Complete Blood Count) – to women in need through its anemia awareness campaign.

The awareness campaign will also provide people with the necessary resources needed to stay healthy in a bid to tackle the prevalence of anemia and its associated factors among women in India.

Tata 1mg will be creating educational handbooks to provide practical tips on topics related to a range of women’s health and wellness issues,” Tata 1mg said in an official note.

Tata group-owned 1mg advised the general public to participate in the anemia awareness campaign to enable the digital health platform to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women.

The pledge aims to bridge the gap in access to quality and timely healthcare for women and raise awareness around nutrition and other deficiencies that are prevalent in Indian women,” pointed out Tata 1mg.

It follows an analysis of tests completed by Tata 1mg Labs over three months showing that hemoglobin deficiency is prevalent across age groups and socio-economic strata in women.

On his part, Gaurav Agarwal, Co-Founder of Tata 1mg, said: “For every pledge that we receive through this campaign and for every woman who books a CBC or nutritional anemia package on Tata 1mg Labs on women’s day, we commit to conducting one free anemia test for a woman in need.”

The campaign focuses on raising awareness of anemia amongst women as well as addressing this critical health issue faced by many women across the country.

At the same time, the unique initiative seeks to spark a conversation about women’s health issues while promoting education amongst them, all year round.
