QATAR – Qatar University to host the eleventh edition of the International Conference on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP) All Together Better Health (ATBH) on Monday, November 6th, 2023.
The 11th International Conference on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP) All Together Better Health (ATBH) will be held in the Middle East for the first time since its inception.
ATBH is the leading global IPECP conference, previously hosted in Japan, Australia, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Canada, America, and New Zealand.
The upcoming conference is expected to attract the participation of over 500 participants from various countries across the globe.
It is projected to gather health and social care professionals, medical education professors and other educators, policymakers, health system executives, and students from around the world.
In a press release, Qatar University said: “This conference provides a collaborative forum for transnational champions to promote IPECP towards improving global health.”
ATBH provides a collaborative forum for transnational champions to promote IPECP towards improving global health through consensus-based partnership, share ideas and address emerging healthcare challenges.
The conference will be held under the theme of “Cultivating a Collaborative Culture: Sharing Pearls of Wisdom” at QU’s premises in Doha.
The biennial event will cover key topics on interprofessional education and collaborative practice, including national, regional, and global policies and standards in this field.
Attendees will exchange knowledge on various models of best practices in interprofessional education and collaborative practice.
It is in line with Qatar University’s commitment to supporting student initiatives, promoting quality education and learning, scientific research, and enriching the student experience.
Speaking on this event, Prof. Asmaa Al-Thani, Vice President for Health and Medical Science at QU. Said: “This is an exclusive opportunity to connect interprofessional health education to structured training models within a collaborative scheme.”
The eleventh edition of the IPECP is expected to bring together like-minded individuals to share their experiences on ways to pool efforts to tackle emerging healthcare challenges.
Moreover, the biennial event will be a unique opportunity for regional and international professionals to advocate for health and well-being.
It will be a unique opportunity for attendees to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the field, as well as promote safety in and beyond health services.
“We look forward to meeting pioneers and experts in healthcare education and facilitating augmenting strategies that improve the interprofessional education in skills acquisition, fields collaboration, and patient health services,” outlined Prof. Asmaa Al-Thani.
The eleventh edition of the IPECP will feature various workshops and oral presentations, alongside poster, peer-assisted learning, and brainstorming sessions.
The biennial event is the pinnacle of all things interprofessional education and collaborative practice within the global landscape.
Submissions were open for individuals or groups to submit abstracts in various categories from January through February this year. Announcements of final decisions were made before the end of April.
On his part, the Conference Chairman and Director of clinical operations and engagement at QU Health, Dr. Alla El-Awaisi commented: “It is a tremendous honor to host the conference in Doha.”
Dr. Alla El-Awaisi further said that the congress will be a knowledge-sharing platform for regional and international attendees to share their pearls of wisdom about best practices in interprofessional education and collaborative practice.
