UAE – The first-ever Dubai Stem Cell Congress (DSCC) has kicked off at the Waldorf Astoria in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Stem Cell research is revolutionizing the way we treat disease and injury by accelerating translational research in regenerative medicine to develop cures for all.

Co-organized by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation LLC, the inaugural Dubai Stem Cell Congress is currently ongoing at the Palm Jumeirah and it will continue until 28th February 2023.

The main objective of the Dubai Stem Cell Congress is to promote a sustainable medical system in advanced stem cell research, regenerative medicine, and transplants.

The conference will also play a significant role in educating and raising awareness of the importance of donating stem cells to save patients’ lives.

The DSCC 2023 is the first of its kind in the UAE to specialise in stem cell medicine and its use as a treatment for serious diseases.

We are pleased to welcome everyone today to the first edition of the Dubai Stem Cell Conference. Our dream has always been to help people and treat difficult cases,” said Dr. Fatma Alhashimi, Chairman of DSCC & Director of Hortman Stem Cell Laboratory.

Hortman Stem Cell Laboratory, the first state-of-the-art laboratory within the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine, is focused on providing top-notch cord blood banking solutions

The high-tech lab facilitates the first-ever clinical trials in stem cell research in the UAE through its GMP Laboratories and ISO-certified cleanrooms for stem cell isolation, culture, and expansion.

The UAE-based facility provides a solid foundation for successfully establishing awareness and understanding of stem cells throughout the Middle Eastern region.

Led by the Hortman Stem Cell Laboratory, the two-day event has brought together over 300 visitors from different nationalities around the world and more than 25 global experts from specialised international organisations dealing with regenerative medicine.

The international experts are expected to deliver industry briefings on the latest technologies related to stem cells and recent scientific findings in the field of regenerative medicine.

The first edition of the Dubai Stem Cell Congress also features keynote speeches from patients presenting success stories of their treatment journey.

For instance, the treatment journey of Matthew Farrow, the world’s first successful cord blood transplant, and the success story of his recovery using stem cell technology.

This year’s meeting also featured the story of the treatment process for a young Emirati, 14-year-old Mahra Naji, who underwent a successful umbilical cord blood transplant.

With support from Leader Healthcare and Leader Life Sciences, the event is an ideal opportunity for participants to discuss the latest research, technologies, and successful clinical experiences in the field of stem cells.

The first edition of the Dubai Stem Cell Congress is also a unique platform for exhibitors to showcase cutting-edge data, stem cell technologies, and advanced applications in stem cell science.
