UAE – The United Arab Emirates has won the bid to host the eighth edition of the Middle East International Dermatology & Aesthetic Medicine Conference & Exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

MEIDAM 2023, which will run from September 22 to September 24, will be hosted by DXB Live, the experiential agency of Dubai World Trade Centre.

An exhibition running alongside the conference will feature 109 companies and global brands, highlighting cutting-edge scientific achievements in dermatology, cosmetics, and anti-aging.

This industry-leading event will be a unique platform for attendees to exchange ideas, knowledge, and insights on the latest innovations in the dermatology & aesthetic medicine practice.

MEIDAM 2023 comes as the global cosmetic surgery market is projected to grow from US$46.02 billion in 2021 to US$58.78 billion in 2028.

As per the latest Medical Tourism Index, the country’s medical travel industry is expected to reach US$53.5 billion by 2028, with Dubai having a majority share of the medical travel market.

The emirate received 674,000 medical tourists who spent Dh992 million (US$270 million) last year, an increase of Dh262 million (US$ 71.35 million) from 2021.

Comparably, the Emirate of Dubai hosted the second edition of the International Confederation of Plastic Surgical Societies (ICOPLAST) for the first time in the Middle East.

The congress aims to ensure the progression of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery training and patient care in a conducive learning environment.
