QATAR – The Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council (QRDI) has signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Engineer Omar A. Al-Ansari, the Secretary General of the QRDI Council, and His Excellency BUZRUKXONOV Sarvarxon Munavarxonovich, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The MoU outlines the two parties’ mutual intentions to facilitate official discussions, strengthen their ties, and promote the exchange of ideas, experts, and research innovation.

It reflects the shared commitment of both parties to drive progress, share a wealth of expertise, and enhance research and innovation capabilities in both Qatar and Uzbekistan.

In a press statement, Engineer Omar A. Al-Ansari, the Secretary General of the QRDI Council, said: “The QRDI Council is optimistic about the groundbreaking collaboration established by the MoU. The Council believes this agreement marks a pivotal moment in pursuing innovation and excellence in research and development.”

As part of this agreement, the QRDI Council and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations will work together to support cooperative activities in all fields of Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI).

The agreement encourages collaboration in knowledge exchange and expertise sharing through initiatives aimed at nurturing their respective innovation ecosystems.

Moreover, the QRDI Council and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations have agreed to create new avenues for research funding collaboration to bolster cooperation among scientists in priority areas.

The duo will also create cross-promotion of innovative programs to encourage innovative business participation as well as fuel scientific growth.

The two organizations will also actively participate in respective RDI conferences and events, including the forthcoming 2024 QRDI Summit.

The strategic alliance comes at an opportune moment when the QRDI Council is eager to forge a dynamic partnership with their esteemed counterparts in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Notably, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations is the government ministry that is responsible for determining the policies and direction of the higher education system, science, and innovations in Uzbekistan.

On his part, His Excellency BUZRUKXONOV Sarvarxon Munavarxonovich, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, stated: “The collaboration with the QRDI Council represents an auspicious gateway to a new era of cooperation.”

The QRDI Council seeks to create a locally empowered, globally connected RDI ecosystem, mobilizing leadership across government, academia, and industry, to transform Qatar’s social and economic future.

By collaborating with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations, the QRDI Council will continue to advance science, technology, and innovation for the betterment of society.

This agreement marks a pivotal moment in the QRDI Council’s relentless pursuit to drive research, development, and innovation efforts on a national level.

It aligns seamlessly with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Second National Development Strategy (2018-2022).

On top of that, the agreement will help the QRDI Council achieve its goal of revitalizing the RDI ecosystem in Qatar, thereby ushering in an era of transformative innovation.
