EGYPT – The Arab Republic of Egypt is set to host the tenth edition of Pharmaconex, Africa’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturing hub, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) in Cairo.

Over the past decade, Pharmaconex has solidified its position through significant exhibitions, online content, educational conferences, and workshops.

Pharmaconex 2023, which will run from September 3 to September 5, will be organized by Informa Markets Egypt, a renowned global exhibition organizer.

The tenth edition of Pharmaconex is anticipated to be an international gathering dedicated to eight main sectors of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

These sectors include Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients & Generic APIs, Biopharmaceuticals, Lab Equipment, Fine Chemicals, Intermediates & excipients, Pharmaceutical Packaging, Clean Rooms, Pharmaceutical Machinery & Products, and Contract Manufacturing.

In a press release, Mostafa Khalil, Group Exhibition Director at Informa Markets Egypt, outlined: “Pharmaconex 2023 brings together industry leaders, innovators, and business owners from all corners of the world.”

Pharmaconex features a conference program covering critical topics like sterile manufacturing, digital transformation, supply chain resilience, quality management, and pharmaceutical engineering.

The three-day event is expected to gather nearly 5,000 visitors from over 40 participating countries around the globe including India, China, the Middle East, and Africa.

It will feature significant exhibitions from pharmaceutical manufacturing companies headquartered in over 20 countries showcasing diverse products and services.

This year’s exhibition presents a chance for industry leaders, innovators, and business owners to drive the pharmaceutical industry forward, and ultimately benefit patients around the entire African continent.

Moreover, industry professionals, manufacturers, and suppliers can establish partnerships, and engage in networking prospects, business growth, and market expansion opportunities in Africa’s pharmaceutical manufacturing space.

Pharmaconex 2023 will serve as an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn about new developments in the pharmaceutical manufacturing space and interact with top industry experts.

It will provide valuable insights into Egypt’s pharmaceutical progress and strengthen partnerships between local and global business owners.

The event comes at a pivotal time as Egyptian authorities are focusing on what the local and foreign private sectors possess in modern technology capabilities and accumulated experience in the pharma sector.

As a result, it falls within the framework of the country’s general policy to support manufacturing, technology transfer, and the localization of various industries.

The tenth edition of Pharmaconex is projected to witness a significant 30% increase in Indian participation buoyed by India’s growing significance as a global player in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

There are huge and distinct investment opportunities for the private sector to participate in the development and restructuring of economic sectors and projects implemented by companies affiliated with Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprise.

Consequently, the tenth edition of Pharmaconex is anticipated to build on the achievements of past events, in line with Egypt’s vision of localizing modern pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This vision is supported by an in-depth analysis of the booming North African pharmaceutical market published by IQVIA, a global provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions, and clinical research services to the life sciences industry.

IQVIA’s quarterly report highlights remarkable growth in the total pharmaceutical market in the Middle East and Africa, which was valued at US$47 billion in 2022.

With approx. 22 countries and over 350 million inhabitants, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) pharmaceutical market was worth US$36 billion in 2016.

The pharmaceutical sector in the Middle East and North Africa is estimated to reach around US$60 billion by 2025.
