UAE Hospitals to embrace AI technology for enhanced diagnostics

UAE — Cutting-edge AI technology is set to take center stage in UAE hospitals, promising improved patient care and more accurate health diagnoses.

This groundbreaking development follows a strategic partnership between Aster DM Healthcare and Fujifilm, introducing artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

This pivotal collaboration marks a new era in healthcare by transforming diagnostic radiology capabilities at Aster DM Healthcare facilities.

The initial phase of this initiative will roll out at Medcare Royal Hospital, with plans for expansion to other Aster and Medcare hospitals in the region.

These AI-driven technologies from Fujifilm are aimed at delivering rapid and precise diagnostics, all while ensuring the utmost patient comfort and safety. They equip healthcare professionals with the necessary data to provide optimal treatments.

In an era where advanced clinical technology and robotics reshape the healthcare landscape, there is a growing demand for AI-based innovations to support patient services and back-office functions.

A 2021 KPMG survey of 751 business decision-makers found that 53% believe AI adoption in healthcare surpasses that in other industries. AI in healthcare spans from process automation to potentially saving lives.

Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, emphasized the organization’s commitment to embracing innovative technology that enhances patient care.

The partnership with Fujifilm, known for its innovation in healthcare technology, underscores its dedication to delivering cutting-edge technological expertise that significantly improves healthcare outcomes and patient experiences.

Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director at Aster DM Healthcare, described this strategic collaboration as a major milestone in their journey to provide world-class healthcare services.

The integration of AI technology into their diagnostics and radiology solutions perfectly aligns with their patient-centric approach, streamlining processes while prioritizing patient comfort.

These systems enhance Aster’s MRI services, making advanced Cardiac MR examinations faster with the latest imaging techniques, and CT scans more patient-friendly with low-dose techniques.

Michio Kondo, Managing Director of Fujifilm Middle East and Africa, expressed delight in seeing their cutting-edge Japanese technology adopted within the Aster DM Healthcare network.

These systems not only feature Fujifilm’s leading AI technologies and best-in-class patient care approaches but also incorporate ecologically friendly technologies.

The introduction of these first-in-the-region installations is expected to raise regional patient care expectations and standards in collaboration with Aster DM Healthcare.

In a recent development of note, the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications organization have partnered with Core42, a G42 company, to launch a robust Emiratization AI program.

This program includes comprehensive training programs aimed at strengthening collaboration structures within technical fields and nurturing national talent in emerging areas like artificial intelligence and coding.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Kiril Evtimov, Chief Executive Officer of Core42.

This significant step was taken during the Global DevSlam event hosted at CodersHQ as part of Gitex Global 2023, the world’s largest specialized gathering dedicated to advanced technological fields.

It focuses on artificial intelligence, generative artificial intelligence, Web 3, and various pivotal digital domains.
