UAE—The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has stated that 425 Emirati residents who participated in Nafis’ National Healthcare Programme have been placed in the private healthcare sector.
This notable milestone follows the launch of the Studying Citizen Employment Contracts project, which aims to increase Emirati participation in the private sector.
An further 1,600 UAE citizens are currently enrolled in the scheme, and efforts are underway to hire them.
To make this procedure easier, MoHRE and Nafis established the Studying Citizen Employment Contract.
Under this arrangement, enrolled students get employer sponsorship and a minimum wage of AED 4,000 (US$1,089) through the Wage Protection System (WPS).
Furthermore, students must be registered in an authorized pension fund and get financial benefits from Nafis in accordance with their academic performance.
Importantly, upon graduation, these students are guaranteed work by the sponsoring company, with additional financial support from Nafis based on their credentials.
This effort not only protects their employment, but it also helps the corporation meet its Emiratisation targets.
In a press statement, MoHRE emphasised the success of these contracts, highlighting the strong levels of participation among young Emiratis in Nafis-supported activities, particularly the National Healthcare Programme.
The government praised the private sector for its critical role in training, equipping, and hiring Emirati professionals, hence increasing their competitiveness in the labour market.
Private healthcare facilities involved in this project include Mediclinic Hospitals and Clinics, NMC Royal Hospital, Burjeel Hospitals, Health and Medical Services (HMS) Group, and the International Modern Hospital.
The ministry praised these institutions for their efforts to integrate UAE nationals into the workforce.
This project demonstrates MoHRE, Nafis, and the corporate sector’s strong collaboration in promoting Emiratisation and assisting Emirati individuals’ professional growth.
The National Healthcare Programme and the Studying Citizen Employment Contracts highlight the value of working together to alleviate employment difficulties and create possibilities for Emirati youth.
MoHRE and Nafis ensure Emirati nationals are well-prepared for professions in healthcare and other critical areas by engaging the private sector and offering structured support and incentives.
Furthermore, this effort demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to building a diverse and competitive workforce.
The ministry’s efforts to encourage Emiratisation not only create job possibilities, but also help the country’s economic growth and stability.
