NIGERIA – Wellness Medical Distribution, a leading Nigerian healthcare service provider, has inaugurated the first online integrative marketplace for pharmaceutical products to ease access to quality medicines and medical supplies in Nigeria.
The online platform named Pharmacentre integrates business to business and business to customer models that enable licensed medical professionals to provide affordable and seamless medical services.
Pharmacentre is an interactive and easy-to-use platform that facilities the supply of pharmaceutical products from different licensed pharma merchants to online consumers/businesses via e-orders as well as a link between consumers and existing physical pharmacies.
It enables users to either register as individuals or businesses where registered users are further required to indicate if they would be interacting on the platform as a customer or as a vendor and only licensed vendors are authenticated to sell on the marketplace.
Wellness Medical created the software platform to leverage technology in the distribution of medical supplies, pharmaceutical products, laboratory test kits and reagents to hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, patent medicine stores and individuals at competitive prices.
The online pharma marketplace will ensure healthcare and wellness products and services are distributed within a framework intended to make life easy for everyone in the health sector and the world at large.
Chief Executive Officer of Wellness Medical Distribution Adetutu Afolabi said that the multi-vendor, integrative pharma commerce platform for pharmaceutical logistics will unite pharmacies, distributors, wholesalers, retailers and end-users.
“As affordability and accessibility to pharmaceutical supplies when needed has become a strong pain point in Nigeria, Pharmacentre will enhance collaboration amongst pharmacists and other healthcare providers to improve the well-being of our people,” Adetutu Afolabi stated.
She explained that the Pharmacentre platform will enable users, whether as individuals or businesses, to get quality medicines from licensed vendors and get the medical products delivered conveniently to their doorsteps with ease.
“Using the ‘Talk to a Pharmacist’ feature allows users on the platform to easily get first-hand recommendations and prescriptions from licensed pharmacists before purchasing drugs online,” Adetutu Afolabi reaffirmed.
She added that licensed vendors on the platform will benefit from the ease of listing their medical products on the platform as it broadens the visibility of their brand and business.
The vendors can also track how their products are faring via real-time marketing reports and dashboards showing sales on the Pharmacentre platform.
Additionally, they can run promotions on the platform to market their products to a wider viewership as well as flexibly offer discounts on their products.
Earlier, the Wellness Medical parent company Wellness Healthcare Group launched the Wellness Plus mobile app to revolutionize healthcare service delivery in Nigeria.
The application supports user’s health and wellness through options to request healthcare services and allows users to monitor their health remotely.
The newly launched Pharmacentre platform further proves the Wellness Healthcare Group commitment to providing good and affordable healthcare to all through its robust innovative healthcare solutions.
