Zayed Military Hospital set to be named Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital in January

UAE—The UAE Ministry of Defence has announced that Zayed Military Hospital in Al Batayeh, Sharjah, will be renamed Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital starting January 1, 2025.

This renaming marks the expansion of the hospital’s services under a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Defence and M42, a global leader in tech-driven healthcare.

Established in September, the collaboration aims to enhance healthcare delivery by managing and operating the facility.

The hospital will continue to provide medical care to UAE military personnel and their families while extending world-class services to communities across the northern regions.

The 45,000-square-meter, state-of-the-art hospital includes a 200-bed inpatient facility, a multi-specialty outpatient department, six operating rooms, an emergency unit, intensive care services, and in-house laboratory and pharmacy services.

The facility, equipped to deliver comprehensive care, will offer specialized services such as family and internal medicine, cardiology, diabetes management, neurology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, and urology.

Dr. Aysha Sultan Aldhaheri, Major General and Executive Director of the Military Health Executive Directorate, emphasized the importance of this first-of-its-kind partnership.

She highlighted that the initiative reinforces their commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare to military personnel, their families, and the broader community.

She added that this effort strengthens the Ministry’s role in the national health system by improving access to advanced medical care for a larger segment of society.

M42’s Managing Director and Group CEO, Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, echoed these sentiments, stating that the partnership reflects M42’s mission to provide preventive, precise, and innovative care.

He emphasized the company’s focus on using cutting-edge technology and fostering innovation to improve accessibility, health outcomes, and overall well-being.

To further support community health, the hospital will introduce tailored health programs to meet the unique needs of residents in the northern regions.

These programs will include health screenings, educational events, and personalized care solutions, ensuring greater awareness and improved healthcare access.
