USA — Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc., a prominent player in the global medical technology arena, is making strategic moves within its Executive Leadership Team to bolster innovation and commercial execution.

These changes aim to drive the company forward and deliver greater value to patients, customers, and all stakeholders.

Wilfred van Zuilen has been promoted to the role of Group President, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

In his capacity as Group President, Mr. van Zuilen will continue overseeing sales, marketing, and product distribution in the EMEA region.

Additionally, he will lead select global research and development (R&D) projects, expanding his role within the organization.

Before joining Zimmer Biomet in June 2021 as President, EMEA, Mr. van Zuilen served as Regional Vice President for North Western Europe at Medtronic.

His extensive experience also includes leadership positions at Medtronic, Covidien, Novartis, and Edwards Lifesciences. Mr. van Zuilen holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Mark Bezjak, who joined Zimmer Biomet in 2008 as Director of Corporate Sales, has been promoted to the role of President of the Americas.

In this expanded role, Mr. Bezjak will oversee not only North America but also Latin America, adding responsibility for all commercial operations, downstream marketing, and distribution activities in these regions.

Before his tenure at Zimmer Biomet, Mr. Bezjak held various positions at Teleflex Medical and Michelin Tire Company.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Virginia Tech and holds an MBA in Strategic Leadership from the University of Richmond.

Dr. Nitin Goyal, Chief Science, Technology and Innovation Officer, has been appointed to the Executive Leadership Team.

Dr. Goyal, who joined Zimmer Biomet in June 2021, will continue to lead global innovation efforts, medical education, clinical affairs, and reimbursement strategy. In his newly expanded role, he will report directly to President and CEO Ivan Tornos.

Dr. Goyal is a practicing adult hip and knee reconstruction surgeon with a distinguished career. Prior to joining Zimmer Biomet, he served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Innovation and Digital Care Delivery at Rally Health, a part of UnitedHealth Group’s Optum business.

Dr. Goyal is also the Founder and CEO of Pulse Platform and Surgical Creations, companies he has led from inception to acquisition.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, earned his Medical degree from the Jefferson Medical College, and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery and fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Rothman Institute and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
