UAE – Zulekha Hospital Dubai, in collaboration with Beit Al Khair Society, has introduced a new self-funding program christened Afrahoum designed to raise money for needy patients in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Notably, the Zulekha Healthcare Group runs two multidisciplinary hospitals in Dubai and Sharjah, as well as three UAE medical centers and three pharmacies providing specialized treatments in over 30 disciplines.
In an official statement from Zulekha Hospital Dubai, the organization said: “The name of the self-funding program, Afrahoum, signifies ‘Gifting Happiness’ in Arabic.”
The unveiling ceremony of the Afrahoum program was officiated by Mr. Haitham Sultan Al Alawi, Section Head of Finance at Beit Al Khair Society, and Mr. Zoaib Nomani, Vice President of Zulekha Healthcare Group.
Through this program, Zulekha Hospital Dubai and Beit Al Khair Society will work closely with to raise funds to assist needy patients in the Emirate.
Representatives from the Beit Al Khair Society highlighted that the new initiative inculcates a sense of collective responsibility as a society amongst residents in the United Arab Emirates.
Moreover, the Beit Al Khair Society encourages all corporate organizations and institutions to join such initiatives and give back to the community.
It serves as a compassionate initiative offering a unique chance to extend support to those needy and less fortunate while they receive quality healthcare services.
In an official address, the Managing Director of Zulekha Healthcare Group, Mr. Taher Shams said: “We are committed to improving the quality of life and confidence of the individuals in need by being here for them. We are proud to have this privilege and responsibility as a healthcare provider.”
This launch comes shortly after the group’s ‘Pink It Now’ breast cancer awareness campaign aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer and outlining the significance of early detection and regular check-ups.
Zulekha Hospital Dubai offers both inpatient and outpatient care covering a wide range of medical and surgical specialties.
The 140-bed facility boasts state-of-the-art operation theatre arrangements, emergency services, and labor rooms.
The facility also houses multiple centers of excellence such as Cardiology, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Urology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, and Physiotherapy.
Zulekha Hospital Dubai has become the first private sector hospital to be licensed by the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department in Dubai to launch such a self-funding program.
With many needy patients undergoing treatments throughout the year at the facilities of the hospital, the organization saw the need for such an initiative and sought a special permit to execute the program.
This self-funding program builds on the progress made since the initial cooperation between Zulekha Hospital Dubai and Sharjah.
Over the years, Zulekha Hospital Dubai and Sharjah have been working with charity organizations across the UAE to make a meaningful difference in thousands of lives of the less privileged in society.
The cases for support are examined closely by a committee of members from both Zulekha Hospital and the charity, following strict criteria to assess the genuine cases, before allocating funds for various treatments including surgeries.
In association with Sharjah, Zulekha Hospital Dubai ensures a thorough process is followed in terms of fund allocation under the healthcare initiatives.
The main objective of this long-standing partnership between Zulekha Hospital Dubai and Sharjah is to ensure treatments are subsidized for needy patients in all age groups.
Commenting on the new self-funding program, Mr. Taher Shams stated: “Afrahoum embodies our commitment to not only provide top-tier medical care but also foster a sense of social responsibility and community engagement. Every individual deserves access to good quality healthcare.”
