INDIA – Zydus Lifesciences Limited has appointed healthcare entrepreneur Upasana Kamineni Konidela, the Vice Chairperson (CSR) at Apollo Foundation and Apollo Life, as an Independent Director for a five-year term.
The Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC) recommended the appointment of Upasana Kamineni due to her expertise, particularly in the areas of Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Information Technology.
With a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in healthcare and philanthropy, she is well-suited to lead the company’s vision of pursuing cutting-edge science for the benefit of society.
She has a strong background in driving business growth and a passion for innovation -essential elements that help in positioning a business for success.
Currently, she is making waves in the business world as one of the youngest and most dynamic independent directors in India of a publicly listed company.
She is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Hyderabad chapter and of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Telangana.
In addition to being a sustainability activist, Upasana holds an International Business Marketing & Management Degree from Regents University in London.
The third-generation entrepreneur and philanthropist from the Apollo Hospitals family in India continues to play her significant role in Apollo Hospitals Group, Family Health Plan Insurance TPA Limited, and URLife.
Mrs. Upasana brings a diverse set of skills, fresh perspectives, and valuable insights, thereby she will play an essential role in propelling Zydus’ business in India.
