UAE—The Family Care Authority’s (FCA) Halfway Houses in Abu Dhabi have earned a prestigious international accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), a leading global standard in social reintegration and recovery services.
This achievement aligns with the UAE leadership’s vision to enhance quality of life, build an inclusive society, develop human potential, and promote sustainable development.
The accreditation was granted for a full three-year term, marking a historic first in the region as the Halfway Houses became the first social reintegration facility to receive this global recognition without any recommendations for improvement.
This flawless performance places the facility among the top three percent worldwide to achieve such an unblemished score.

H.E. Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi, Director General of the Family Care Authority, explained that the facility was designed to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and social reintegration.

She emphasized that rehabilitation involves more than treatment; it is a transformative journey focused on restoring life and strengthening family ties.
Al Ameemi noted that the accreditation validates their programmes meet the highest international benchmarks, showcasing Abu Dhabi as a leader in fostering communities that support healing, hope, and sustainable wellbeing.
Dr. Alyaa Al Jasmi, Manager of the Care Homes Division at FCA, highlighted that earning the three-year CARF accreditation represents a significant milestone and a source of pride for all stakeholders.
He attributed this accomplishment to the dedication of the facility’s staff and partners, whose commitment to excellence has positioned Halfway Houses as a center of recovery and social integration.
Since its establishment in 2023, Halfway Houses has played a critical role within Abu Dhabi’s social reintegration system.
