UAE—Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital, a leading facility of Medcare Hospitals & Medical Centres and a premier multispecialty hospital in the UAE, has formed a strategic partnership with FAI Aviation Services DMCC.

FAI Aviation Services is the Dubai-based subsidiary of Germany’s top air ambulance provider, FAI rent-a-jet GmbH.

This agreement marks FAI’s first collaboration of this kind in the region and places Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital at the heart of an integrated emergency care system connecting air and ground services.

The official signing took place in Dubai, with Barbara Baumgartner, Managing Director of FAI Aviation Services DMCC, and Dr. Shanila Laiju, Group Chief Executive Officer of Medcare Hospitals & Medical Centres, endorsing the partnership.

Through this alliance, critically ill international patients will benefit from aircraft designed specifically for intensive care, combined with prompt access to a specialized local medical team ready to provide advanced treatment immediately upon arrival.

Care will seamlessly transition from the air ambulance to the hospital, with Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital serving as the cornerstone of this integrated emergency response network.

Under the arrangement, Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital will supply the main ICU flight doctors and specialized medical teams for FAI’s international air ambulance operations.

This collaboration integrates the hospital’s extensive clinical expertise directly into the air-medical environment.

Both organizations will join forces on training, clinical readiness, and quality assurance efforts to ensure uninterrupted care from initial stabilization mid-flight through to advanced treatment at the hospital.

Equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure, dedicated trauma and emergency teams, and round-the-clock readiness, Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital is uniquely prepared to handle urgent medical evacuations and critical patient transfers.

The partnership aims to boost response efficiency, improve patient safety, and reinforce the UAE’s role as a global hub for emergency care and medical tourism.

Dr. Shanila Laiju emphasized their pride in partnering with FAI Air Ambulance to enhance emergency capabilities and ensure timely, life-saving care.

She highlighted their shared dedication to providing high-quality medical services whenever patients need them most.

Barbara Baumgartner expressed her satisfaction with this unprecedented collaboration, noting it strengthens FAI’s connection between air and ground medical services in the UAE.

She added that partnering with Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital allows FAI to leverage local medical talent who understand cultural sensitivities and patient needs.

Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital offers a multisensory healing environment, advanced clinical technologies including AI in diagnostics and oncology, and comprehensive trauma care through its 24/7 emergency services.

The hospital’s emergency and orthopedic departments provide expert trauma management, from stabilization to complex surgeries, with a focus on timely treatment.

It also supports ongoing follow-up care for international patients after discharge.

As part of a select group of 208 Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospitals, Medcare ensures internationally recognized service quality.

Patient support specialists, including those from FAI, help streamline recovery experiences and reduce patient stress.

FAI’s collaboration with Medcare builds on a history of successful cooperation, with some physicians serving as FAI flight doctors since 2008.

Medcare has played a key role in critical hospital admissions for time-sensitive medical evacuation missions.

One recent case involved a young American expatriate in the UAE who suffered severe injuries in a car accident while vacationing in Kyrgyzstan.

Her doctors determined she could not endure a long-haul flight to the United States.

After urgent coordination, FAI arranged her treatment in the UAE and transported her by Challenger 604 aircraft to Dubai, where Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital provided outstanding care.

She was discharged six weeks later, fully able to walk out of the facility.

This strategic partnership between Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital and FAI Aviation Services sets a new standard for emergency medical care in the region by seamlessly integrating aviation and hospital expertise.
