The setback comes at a crucial time as competition intensifies in the fast-growing market for lower-cost versions of Novo Nordisk’s blockbuster diabetes and obesity medicine.

The newly formed organization brings together four established healthcare brands including Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare and KIMSHEALTH, under a single platform focused on expanding access to advanced and affordable medical care across the country.

The Jasper, Indiana-based electronics and medical contract manufacturer will add Helvoet’s facilities in Tilburg, the Netherlands, and in Pune, India, to its global manufacturing network.

Mumbai-based Innovcare Lifesciences operates across the Indian market and focuses on marketing, distributing, and selling pharmaceutical products, nutraceuticals, and cosmeceuticals.

The facility, which is expected to begin operations in 2027, will become Align Technology’s first manufacturing site in India and its fourth worldwide.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Sun Pharma’s global footprint while broadening its presence in women’s health, biosimilars, and established medicines.

The companies are competing for a share of India’s Semaglutide market, which analysts estimate will reach USD1 billion over the next two years.

The merger is set to complete within the next quarter, pending final regulatory and statutory approvals from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).

The partnership will bring select consultant vascular and endovascular surgeons from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital’s IVES to C37’s Dubai facility.
