NIGERIA— The Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) is taking significant steps to transform healthcare access across the country.

Through its wholly owned healthcare subsidiary, NSIA Advanced Medical Services Limited (MedServe), the Authority has partnered with GE HealthCare to launch an ambitious expansion program for diagnostic services.

The collaboration will bring 10 new diagnostic centers to strategic locations throughout Nigeria during the first phase of MedServe’s healthcare expansion initiative.

These facilities represent a cornerstone of the organization’s mission to deliver advanced healthcare services to every Nigerian, regardless of their location.

Dr. Tolu Adewole, Managing Director and CEO of MedServe, emphasized the transformative nature of this partnership.

He explained that the agreement marks a pivotal milestone in Nigeria’s healthcare development by merging world-class technology with local expertise.

The initiative will strengthen the national healthcare system while expanding access to reliable diagnostic services for millions of citizens.

Furthermore, these centers will enable timely testing and early detection of diseases, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes nationwide.

The partnership addresses a critical gap in Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure.

Dr. George Uduku, General Manager of GE HealthCare West Africa, highlighted that access to advanced diagnostic services remains a top priority for the country.

He noted that the collaboration aims to bring cutting-edge imaging technology closer to communities that need it most.

GE HealthCare’s involvement extends beyond simply providing equipment.

The company plans to support the initiative through comprehensive training programs and long-term technical support.

This approach will enable earlier diagnosis and improve treatment decisions while building local capacity within the healthcare sector.

The goal centers on ensuring more Nigerians receive the care they need precisely when they need it.

Dr. Uduku expressed pride in partnering with MedServe on this transformative effort. He stressed that combining advanced technology with robust training and service support will strengthen the entire healthcare system. The collaboration demonstrates how public-private partnerships can deliver tangible benefits to communities across Nigeria.

The diagnostic centers will play a vital role in modernizing Nigeria’s healthcare delivery system.

By strategically positioning these facilities across key regions, MedServe and GE HealthCare aim to reduce the burden on existing medical infrastructure while making quality diagnostic services more accessible to underserved populations throughout the country.
