The initiative recognizes that pharmacists serve as critical figures in healthcare, often representing the first and most accessible point of contact for millions of Egyptians seeking guidance on everyday health concerns.

EGYPT—Haleon, a prominent consumer health company, has introduced the “Haleon Partners Club” across Egypt, a comprehensive program aimed at forging sustainable relationships between the organization and the country’s pharmacist community.
The initiative recognizes that pharmacists serve as critical figures in healthcare, often representing the first and most accessible point of contact for millions of Egyptians seeking guidance on everyday health concerns.
Empowering pharmacists through education and support
The program prioritizes professional growth by collaborating with the ACICT, the technical and commercial branch of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT).
Together, these organizations will provide specific training that helps pharmacists become reliable health advisors in public health systems and local rules.
Asif Alavi, General Manager for Haleon North Africa, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering accessible healthcare with compassion.
He explained that investing in pharmacist education strengthens both the profession itself and empowers entire communities to take control of their health outcomes.
This vision directly supports Haleon’s global objective to improve everyday health for more than 300 million people by 2030 through enhanced health literacy and responsible self-care practices.
Continuous learning and professional development
Through the Partners Club, pharmacists gain ongoing scientific education focused on key over-the-counter categories, including pain management, nutrition, and respiratory health.
Beyond clinical knowledge, the program develops essential business and communication skills that enhance professional capabilities.
A dedicated digital platform enables pharmacists to register, access educational content, and engage directly with Haleon’s resources.
Ahmad Sharaf, Chief Executive Officer of the ACICT, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s alignment with the academy’s mission.
He noted that the initiative strengthens healthcare professionalism by combining industry innovation with academic rigor.
The AASTMT contributes specialized commercial and professional training programs designed to equip pharmacists with market-relevant skills and practical knowledge.
Broad support from healthcare community
The program has garnered backing from major pharmaceutical organizations, including the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (EPSF), both recognizing the value of enhancing pharmacists’ capabilities.
Yasser Abdel Moneim, Head of Expert for Haleon North Africa, articulated that the company aims to elevate pharmacists medically, commercially, and professionally.
By combining digital platforms with academic partnerships, Haleon creates an ecosystem where pharmacists can lead on self-care initiatives, address health literacy gaps, and function as genuine partners within the healthcare system.
This strategic approach acknowledges that self-care has become an indispensable element of modern healthcare, alleviating strain on medical systems while improving patient outcomes.
