The Pharmacy and Poisons Board has approved both the 300 mg tablet and 464 mg injectable solution forms of Lenacapavir for use as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
Results showed that the injectable regimen performed just as well as the daily oral dolutegravir-based therapy (TLD) but helped reduce the burden of daily medication.
This progress was announced by Dr. Temitope Ilori, the Director-General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), during the World AIDS Day 2025 observance in Abuja.
