The launch includes eight hospital-grade hemodialysis concentrate solutions designed to support the treatment of patients living with kidney failure.

UAE—Mubadala Bio has expanded the UAE’s healthcare manufacturing capabilities by launching a new range of hemodialysis products through its subsidiary, Wellpharma, at its Abu Dhabi manufacturing facility.
The development marks the first-time hemodialysis concentrate solutions have been produced locally in the UAE, strengthening the country’s efforts to enhance domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing and improve access to critical hospital therapies.
Eight new hospital-grade dialysis solutions
The launch includes eight hospital-grade hemodialysis concentrate solutions designed to support the treatment of patients living with kidney failure.
These products are used during hemodialysis, a life-sustaining procedure that replaces the kidneys’ filtering function when they can no longer effectively remove waste products, toxins, and excess fluids from the bloodstream.
During treatment, the dialysis solutions help maintain the body’s electrolyte balance while facilitating the removal of harmful substances from the blood.
As a result, they play a vital role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of dialysis procedures for patients with chronic kidney disease and other forms of renal failure.
By manufacturing these products locally, Mubadala Bio aims to improve the availability of essential dialysis therapies while reducing reliance on imported medical supplies.
Strengthening the UAE’s Life Sciences sector
Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of Mubadala’s UAE Investments Platform and Chairman of Mubadala Bio, said the company has continued to expand the country’s life sciences capabilities since Mubadala Bio was established in 2025.
He described the introduction of locally manufactured hemodialysis solutions as a significant milestone because these products play a critical role in the healthcare system. He added that Mubadala Bio remains committed to developing strategic healthcare capabilities and improving access to essential medical products across the UAE.
Dr. Essam Mohamed, Group CEO of Mubadala Bio, said the launch represents an important achievement for both the company and the country’s healthcare sector.
According to Mohamed, local production will help ensure a more reliable supply of critical dialysis therapies for patients who depend on regular treatment.
He added that the initiative also strengthens Mubadala Bio’s capabilities in manufacturing specialized hospital-based therapies while supporting the company’s long-term growth in pharmaceutical production.
Advancing local pharmaceutical manufacturing
Hamad Almarzooqi, Group Deputy CEO of Mubadala Bio, said expanding domestic manufacturing remains central to Abu Dhabi’s and the UAE’s ambition to become a leading regional and global hub for life sciences.
He noted that building a globally competitive pharmaceutical industry requires strong local capabilities across the entire pharmaceutical value chain, from manufacturing to the supply of essential medicines.
He added that the introduction of locally produced hemodialysis solutions represents another step toward achieving that objective while reinforcing the country’s healthcare manufacturing ecosystem.
