Saudi German Hospital Alexandria collaborates with Conceive Center to establish fertility care partnership in Egypt

EGYPT—Saudi German Hospital Alexandria and the Conceive Center for IVF and Infertility Treatment will sign a cooperation protocol on July 30 to expand fertility and assisted reproductive technology (ART) services and support Egypt’s efforts to strengthen its position as a regional medical tourism destination.

The agreement will bring together the two healthcare institutions to provide integrated fertility and reproductive healthcare services, develop specialised treatment programmes for international patients and improve support throughout the patient journey.

The partnership comes as Egypt seeks to attract more patients from Arab and African markets by capitalising on its healthcare advantages.

These include a large pool of specialised medical professionals, advanced fertility treatment capabilities, competitive in vitro fertilisation (IVF) success rates, and treatment costs lower than those in many regional and international destinations.

By combining their expertise and resources, Saudi German Hospital – Alexandria and Conceive Center aim to strengthen the range of fertility services available to local and international patients.

 The institutions will also work to create a more coordinated care pathway for patients seeking infertility diagnosis and treatment.

Focus on medical tourism

The collaboration is expected to support Egypt’s efforts to grow inbound medical tourism, which the country increasingly views as a strategic opportunity for the healthcare sector and a potential source of foreign currency revenues.

Fertility treatment and ART are among the specialised medical services that could help Egypt attract patients from neighbouring countries and other international markets.

The country’s geographic location, established healthcare infrastructure and relatively affordable treatment costs provide a foundation for expanding this segment of medical tourism.

The partnership will also focus on improving the experience of international patients, from initial consultations and treatment planning to clinical care and follow-up.

Such services could help healthcare providers respond to the growing demand for specialised reproductive healthcare among patients travelling abroad for treatment.

Officials and industry representatives to attend

Alexandria Governorate will host the signing ceremony, which will bring together senior healthcare officials and representatives from the public and private sectors.

Attendees are expected to include the Head of the Alexandria Medical Syndicate and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Alexandria, alongside executives from Saudi German Hospital – Alexandria and Conceive Center.

Representatives from several diplomatic missions have also been invited.

These include officials from the Saudi, Libyan and Lebanese consulates, as well as representatives of the Turkish, Chinese and French consulates. Business leaders and healthcare industry representatives are also expected to participate.

Officials from the Health Committee of the Alexandria Businessmen’s Association and the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce will also attend, reflecting the role of public-private collaboration in supporting the development of specialised healthcare services.

The agreement aligns with Egypt’s broader strategy to develop healthcare as a high-value economic sector while enhancing its competitiveness in medical tourism.

The strategy includes continued investment in healthcare infrastructure, specialised medical expertise and internationally competitive treatment services.
