Biointron launches RushData platform to accelerate AI-driven antibody discovery

RushData aims to address these bottlenecks by bringing antibody expression, binding analysis and early developability profiling into a standardised workflow.

USA—Biointron Biological has launched RushData, an integrated service platform designed to accelerate experimental validation of antibodies discovered using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

The company developed the platform in response to the growing use of computational methods in antibody discovery, which can generate thousands of potential antibody sequences during a single design cycle.

However, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies still need to experimentally test these candidates for expression, binding performance and developability before advancing them for further development.

Accelerating experimental validation

Biointron said these validation activities often involve multiple service providers and operate as separate processes.

As a result, moving antibody candidates from computational design through laboratory testing can take three to four weeks, slowing the design-build-test-learn cycle.

RushData aims to address these bottlenecks by bringing antibody expression, binding analysis and early developability profiling into a standardised workflow.

The platform is built around Biointron’s transient Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) expression system, which the company says can reduce the time between sequence submission and delivery of experimental data to several days.

The service is designed to support high-throughput workflows, allowing more than 3,000 molecules to be processed in parallel in a single batch.

Biointron uses CHO cells to produce the antibodies and generate experimental data for subsequent analysis.

According to the company, the use of CHO cells can provide data relevant to antibody development because the system supports protein folding and post-translational modifications that are more representative of those found in human cells than some alternative expression systems.

Data designed for AI and ML workflows

Biointron has also structured RushData’s experimental outputs to support integration with AI and ML pipelines.

This allows researchers to use laboratory-generated data for model training and validation while reducing the need to manually consolidate results from different experimental platforms.

The platform offers several service levels to accommodate different antibody discovery requirements.

Basic packages provide rapid screening, while standard services include binding characterisation.

Premium packages add early developability assessments to help researchers identify potential development challenges at an earlier stage.

Selected services incorporate analytical techniques including differential scanning fluorimetry to assess thermal stability, AC-SINS to evaluate self-interaction and polyspecificity reagent binding to identify potential nonspecific interactions.

Biointron provides contract research services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide, covering antibody discovery, protein expression and antibody optimisation.

Through RushData, the company is expanding these capabilities to support workflows that combine computational antibody design with high-throughput experimental validation.
