The facility introduces advanced treatment services previously unavailable locally, allowing patients to receive care within the city rather than travelling to other regions.

SAUDI ARABIA—Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital has launched a new Radiation Therapy Center in Madinah, marking a major step forward for cancer care in the region.
The facility introduces advanced treatment services previously unavailable locally, allowing patients to receive care within the city rather than travelling to other regions.
As a result, individuals and their families can now avoid the physical strain, emotional stress, and financial costs often associated with seeking treatment far from home.
Until now, many cancer patients in Madinah had to travel long distances to access radiation therapy, creating delays and disruptions in care.
With the opening of this center, the hospital addresses a critical gap in oncology services and improves timely access to treatment.
Advanced technology for precision treatment
The center features modern radiation therapy equipment, including the Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator, designed to deliver highly targeted treatment.
This technology allows clinicians to focus radiation directly on tumors while limiting exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
Consequently, patients benefit from more accurate treatment, fewer side effects, and, in some cases, shorter therapy cycles.
Radiation therapy plays a key role in cancer management, contributing to treatment plans in more than 60% of cases.
Clinicians use it as a primary therapy, alongside surgery, or in combination with chemotherapy.
By integrating advanced tools, the hospital enhances its ability to provide effective and personalized cancer care.
Comprehensive cancer treatment services
In addition, the facility supports the treatment of a wide range of cancers, including breast, lung, prostate, brain, and head and neck tumors, as well as other solid malignancies.
This broad scope positions the center as a comprehensive oncology hub within Madinah, capable of addressing diverse patient needs under one roof.
To ensure high-quality care, the hospital has assembled a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
Experts in medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, surgery, and medical physics collaborate to design tailored treatment plans.
This coordinated approach aligns with international clinical standards and ensures that each patient receives evidence-based care suited to their condition.
Leadership perspective and patient impact
According to Dr. Nezar Khalifa, the new center reflects Fakeeh Care Group’s focus on delivering advanced, patient-centered healthcare services.
He emphasized that the hospital aims to improve patients’ quality of life by providing comprehensive care closer to home.
Furthermore, he noted that oncology patients in Madinah can now access high-quality radiation therapy without leaving the city.
The integrated medical environment also ensures continuous support throughout the treatment journey, from diagnosis to follow-up care.
