Embecta expands drug delivery portfolio with US$172.6M Owen Mumford acquisition

UK—Embecta has completed its acquisition of UK-based medical device manufacturer Owen Mumford Holdings in a transaction valued at up to £150 million (US$172.6 million).

The deal, first announced in March 2026, comprises an upfront payment of £100 million (US$115.1 million) and up to £50 million (US$57.5 million) in contingent payments tied to the net sales performance of Owen Mumford’s Aidaptus auto-injector platform over the next three years.

The acquisition marks a significant step in Embecta’s strategy to diversify beyond its established diabetes care business and strengthen its position in advanced drug delivery systems for pharmaceutical partners and chronic disease management.

Expanding focus on chronic and complex conditions
