NMC has strategically designed these accreditation programs to address the diverse healthcare requirements of this growing community, ensuring accessible, high-quality care for every generation—from newborns to seniors.

UAE—NMC Healthcare Group, a leading private healthcare provider in the United Arab Emirates, has launched four significant accreditation initiatives for 2026–27 to advance clinical excellence across its network.
The announcement follows the organization’s achievement of Enterprise Accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI) in 2025.
The UAE’s demographic landscape continues to evolve rapidly, with expatriates comprising approximately 88% of the total population.
Health authorities project the number of residents aged 60 and above will triple by 2030, creating new demands for specialized medical services.
NMC has strategically designed these accreditation programs to address the diverse healthcare requirements of this growing community, ensuring accessible, high-quality care for every generation—from newborns to seniors.
Four Pillars of Accreditation
NMC will pursue the WHO-UNICEF Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) across all its multi-specialty hospitals in the UAE.
This three-year certification promotes breastfeeding, strengthens maternal-infant bonding, and implements evidence-based neonatal practices while enhancing staff training programs.
The organization will seek Joint Commission International Clinical Care Program Certification (CCPC) at NMC Royal Hospital DIP, NMC Specialty Hospital Al Nahda, and NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah.
These certifications will improve emergency preparedness, reduce mortality and disability rates, and strengthen confidence among insurers and regulators in high-acuity care delivery.
NMC Royal Hospital Khalifa City will pursue American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation.
This certification ensures elderly patients receive specialized care through dedicated staff training, age-appropriate environmental modifications, and tailored clinical pathways.
Five NMC facilities will undertake National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS) Medical Internship and Postgraduate Medical Education Accreditation.
These include NMC Royal Hospital Khalifa City, NMC Specialty Hospital Abu Dhabi, NMC Specialty Hospital Al Ain, NMC Specialty Hospital Al Nahda, and NMC Royal Hospital DIP.
The program will standardize medical education across facilities while strengthening clinical governance and patient safety protocols.
Building on a Foundation of Excellence
NMC currently maintains an extensive portfolio of certifications across its UAE network, including JCI Enterprise accreditation, CARF accreditation for Provita’s long-term care facilities, and ISO 15189:2022 certification across all laboratories.
Key facilities also hold American Heart Association STEMI and Stroke certification, ACHSI Centre of Excellence status, and Age Friendly Accreditation.
Dr. Zakaullah Khan, Chief Clinical Officer of NMC Healthcare, stated the organization continues building on its recent JCI Enterprise accreditation success.
He emphasized NMC’s commitment to strengthening clinical foundations, improving care pathway safety and consistency, and meeting the highest international standards while delivering world-class care for every life stage.
