KENYA—Nairobi is set to host the 2nd Kenya Pharma & Healthcare International Expo from 9 to 11 April 2026 at the Sarit Expo Centre.
This event represents a significant gathering for East Africa’s pharmaceutical, medical, and healthcare sectors, positioning Kenya as the region’s gateway for business development and industry innovation.
A growing market opportunity
Kenya stands as East Africa’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturing hub and serves as a strategic export base across the region.
The country’s medical device market demonstrates strong growth potential, expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 8.9% in local currency terms and 8.2% in U.S. dollars.
However, the sector remains heavily dependent on imports due to limited domestic manufacturing infrastructure, constrained technical capacity, and restricted access to raw materials.
Meanwhile, Kenya’s private health sector continues to expand, now accounting for 50% of all healthcare goods, services, products, and technologies in the country.
Industry Support and Organization
The Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF), Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI), Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK), Kenya Medical Association, and Rural & Urban Private Hospitals Association of Kenya (RUPHA) have confirmed that they will officially support this expo.

Comprehensive Exhibition Categories
The expo encompasses multiple industry sectors, welcoming exhibitors from pharmaceutical companies offering active pharmaceutical ingredients and drugs, manufacturing equipment, and biotech solutions.
Medical device manufacturers will showcase laboratory and diagnostic equipment, medical technology, and electromedical devices.
The event will also feature nutraceutical suppliers, health supplement producers, and cosmetics brands.
Additionally, providers of assistive devices, rehabilitation equipment, and elder care solutions will participate alongside dental, orthopedic, and ophthalmic equipment suppliers.
The exhibition extends to medical tourism organizations, including hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics, alongside herbal and Ayurveda wellness practitioners.
Target Attendees and Previous Success
The expo will attract diverse visitors, including hospital administrators from government and private facilities, physicians, surgeons, specialists, and radiologists.
Laboratory technicians, drug regulatory authorities, and representatives from medical research organizations will also attend to explore innovations and establish connections.
The audience will also comprise importers and exporters, medical equipment manufacturers, diagnostic center owners, pharmaceutical retailers and distributors, government officials, and venture capitalists seeking investment opportunities.
The inaugural Kenya Pharma edition in 2025 demonstrated the event’s drawing power, attracting over 140 participating exhibitors from more than 10 countries, including Kenya, India, the UAE, Germany, Finland, Uganda, China, and Algeria.
The expo also welcomed more than 4,000 visitors, establishing strong momentum for the 2026 event.
This year’s expo builds on that foundation, offering businesses across the healthcare value chain a platform to connect with East African markets and advance sector growth.
