Stereotaxis to acquire Robocath in USD45M deal to expand its robotic endovascular platform

Under the agreement, Stereotaxis will pay USD20 million upfront, with up to an additional USD25 million tied to milestone-based payments.

USA—US medical technology company Stereotaxis has agreed to acquire Robocath, a developer of smart robotic solutions, in a transaction valued at up to USD45 million.

The deal is designed to strengthen Stereotaxis’ position in robotic interventional medicine by broadening its platform for a wider range of endovascular procedures.

Under the agreement, Stereotaxis will pay USD20 million upfront, with up to an additional USD25 million tied to milestone-based payments.

The companies expect the transaction to close in mid-2026.

Stereotaxis said Robocath is expected to generate about USD2 million in annual revenue in the first year after the acquisition.

The company also said the deal should break even in the third year, reflecting its plan to integrate Robocath’s technology into its broader commercial strategy.

Robocath’s technology and pipeline

Robocath, based in Rouen, France, has developed the R-One+ system, which it describes as the only commercially available robotic solution for percutaneous coronary interventions in Europe.

The company said the system has been installed 15 times globally.

In addition to the R-One+ platform, Robocath is working on a next-generation robotic system designed to allow simultaneous manipulation of up to five interventional devices.

The company has already completed initial first-in-human procedures for the system in France.

Stereotaxis said it plans to accelerate development of this new platform after the acquisition.

The company aims to file for regulatory clearance in the United States and Europe within two years, while also adding new hardware and software features to expand the system’s capabilities.

Leadership comments and broader expansion

Stereotaxis chairman and CEO David Fischel said the acquisition is a highly strategic addition to the company’s portfolio.

He said the move will support Stereotaxis’ goal of becoming a leading robotic platform for the full range of endovascular procedures.

Fischel also said the combination of Stereotaxis’ magnetic navigation technology and Robocath’s mechanical robotic system will create a platform with broader use across interventional medicine.

He added that the deal should speed up development, strengthen technological leadership, improve commercial synergies, and open new growth opportunities.

The acquisition comes shortly after Stereotaxis launched its Synchrony system for cath laboratories, following 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration.

The company said the system is intended to advance digital capabilities in interventional cath labs and support its push into next-generation robotic solutions.
