RUSSIA—Experts from the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Healthcare Department have showcased their mentoring system at the All-Russian expert forum “Mentoring Formula” held in Pyatigorsk.
The center’s innovative approach to developing scientific talent earned recognition when it won the Russian Mentoring-2025 competition in the “Mentoring in the Social Sphere and Public Activity” category.
At the forum, specialists from across Russia gathered to exchange best practices and discuss modern strategies for building professional teams and strengthening collaboration among experts.
The Center’s mentoring system represents far more than traditional experience-sharing.
Instead, it functions as a comprehensive framework designed to unlock the research potential of young scientists while ensuring they contribute meaningfully to ongoing projects.

Measurable results drive professional growth
The implementation of new management approaches has produced concrete outcomes. Olga Omelyanskaya, Chief Innovation Officer, reported that the Center reduced the time required to prepare and publish scientific articles by half.
Additionally, the time spent conducting research and preparing methodological materials decreased by 1.5 times.
Remarkably, despite intensified workloads, team surveys consistently show high psychological comfort levels, reaching 96 percent.
The mentoring model combines modern management practices with team-based scientific work.
Key objectives encompass conducting research and experiments, training emerging scientists, developing innovative technologies, providing project support, and fostering partnerships with scientific organizations, industry leaders, and international research communities.
The Center also prioritizes sharing research findings through publications, conferences, and professional forums.
Collaborative structure empowers decision-making.
Kirill Arzamasov, head of the Department of Medical Informatics, Radiomics, and Radiogenomics, explains that the system operates on matrix and participatory principles.
Research heads distribute responsibilities to staff members through clear processes, allowing professionals to make autonomous decisions.
Regular brainstorming sessions encourage employees to propose solutions and share accountability, strengthening peer partnerships and organizational trust.
Since its establishment in 2022, the Center’s Scientific and Educational Laboratory has become essential to this framework.
The laboratory provides hands-on training and research opportunities for Center employees and students from leading Russian institutions, including I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and Russian Technical University MIREA.
