Under the agreement, both organizations will conduct a series of early screening campaigns across Caritas Egypt’s network of branches.

EGYPT—Jamjoom Pharma has signed a memorandum of understanding with Caritas Egypt to launch a nationwide initiative focused on early detection of ocular surface disorders and improving health awareness among vulnerable communities.
The move highlights the company’s growing role in supporting public health systems across the Middle East and Africa.
Moreover, this collaboration aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and ongoing presidential health initiatives.
Through this partnership, Jamjoom Pharma will leverage its medical expertise and technical capabilities to strengthen preventive healthcare efforts and expand access to essential eye care services.
Nationwide screening rollout
Under the agreement, both organizations will conduct a series of early screening campaigns across Caritas Egypt’s network of branches.
The first phase will begin in six key locations across Cairo and Giza, targeting underserved populations who often face barriers to specialized healthcare.
Following this initial rollout, the program will expand to Alexandria, the Nile Delta, and Upper Egypt.
This phased approach allows both partners to assess impact while scaling operations efficiently across the country.
Commitment to sustainable healthcare impact
Dr. Ali Yehia, General Manager and Cluster Head of Jamjoom Pharma in Egypt and North Africa, emphasized that the partnership reflects the company’s broader healthcare mission.
He stated that Jamjoom Pharma aims not only to provide medications but also to create lasting health outcomes through preventive care and community engagement.
In addition, he noted that the company will deploy specialized medical teams and modern diagnostic equipment to ensure the screenings reach as many beneficiaries as possible.
By combining clinical expertise with awareness campaigns, Jamjoom Pharma seeks to improve early diagnosis rates and reduce the burden of untreated eye conditions.
Furthermore, the initiative supports national efforts to enhance quality of life and promote sustainable development.
The company will also provide medical samples and educational materials to strengthen public awareness of eye health and prevention strategies.
Expanding access through civil society collaboration
Dr. Ayman Sadek, General Director of Caritas Egypt, highlighted the importance of private-sector collaboration in advancing community healthcare.
He explained that integrating specialized eye care services into Caritas programs represents a significant step forward in delivering comprehensive support to vulnerable groups.
Additionally, Caritas Egypt will coordinate outreach efforts through its nationwide network to ensure accessibility and effective implementation of the screening campaigns.
The organization will also play a key role in mobilizing communities and facilitating participation.
The partnership will begin with a three-month pilot phase, which will help define a structured roadmap for future expansion.
This model aims to strengthen collaboration between private companies and civil society organizations while supporting national health priorities.
