HPE deploys AI-powered networking at Saudi German Health UAE to support digital transformation

Saudi German Health UAE selected HPE’s Self Driving Network portfolio to upgrade its wired, wireless and security infrastructure across its hospitals, clinics, medical education facilities and new medical college.

UAE— Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced that Saudi German Health UAE has selected its AI-powered networking solutions to modernize its hospital network infrastructure and support digital healthcare expansion across the UAE.

The deployment uses HPE’s wired and wireless networking and network access control (NAC) solutions, managed through HPE Aruba Central.

The two organizations have worked together for 14 years, supporting Saudi German Health UAE’s infrastructure development and digital transformation.

Network modernization supports healthcare expansion

Saudi German Health UAE selected HPE’s Self Driving Network portfolio to upgrade its wired, wireless and security infrastructure across its hospitals, clinics, medical education facilities and new medical college.

The group’s existing network faced growing demands from connected medical devices, diagnostic imaging applications, mobile users and expanding digital services across multiple campuses.

These requirements increased the need for greater network capacity, visibility, reliability and security.

The upgrade forms part of a broader digital transformation programme covering infrastructure, applications, digital services and artificial intelligence (AI).

By centralizing network management, HPE aims to help the healthcare provider detect technical issues earlier, resolve disruptions faster and maintain consistent connectivity across its facilities.

HPE’s AI-powered operations also provide insights into network performance, enabling IT teams to identify potential problems proactively and plan infrastructure expansion as demand grows.

Security and connectivity for clinical operations

The new network is designed to improve the reliability of mission-critical healthcare applications, including electronic medical records (EMRs) and clinical systems.

HPE Aruba Networking access points will provide wireless connectivity, while HPE Networking CX switches will support the underlying network infrastructure across multiple sites.

The deployment also incorporates HPE Networking Gateway Series and HPE Networking ClearPass Policy Manager.

These technologies support role-based access controls for staff, visitors and connected medical devices, helping the organisation manage network access and protect sensitive patient information.

Meanwhile, HPE Networking User Experience Insight will monitor digital service performance and help IT teams identify connectivity problems before they affect users.

The infrastructure will also support production systems and isolated CCTV networks, allowing the organization to manage different operational environments.

These capabilities are relevant to healthcare providers managing increasingly connected facilities, where clinical workflows depend on reliable access to digital systems and security controls must account for both people and medical equipment.

AI-driven operations and future services

Abid Shah, chief information officer at Saudi German Health UAE, said secure, AI native networking would provide the resilient foundation needed to support the group’s expanding healthcare and academic operations.

He added that the organisation’s round-the-clock acute care services require reliability, resilience and security.

Centralized network visibility and AI-driven insights are expected to help IT teams manage infrastructure more effectively, accommodate growth and improve the patient experience.

Zeeshan Hadi, business head for the UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Africa in HPE’s networking business, said healthcare providers must maintain secure digital services while supporting large numbers of users, connected devices and applications across multiple locations.

He said Saudi German Health UAE’s deployment combines AI-native network operations, security, and cloud-based management to support current services and future initiatives, including smart hospitals and AI-enabled healthcare applications.

The project reflects the growing role of network infrastructure in healthcare digitalization, as hospitals expand their use of connected devices, clinical applications, and data-intensive diagnostic services.
