The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) granted approval on November 4, 2025, completing its review in just 12 working days through an innovative regulatory pathway.

This trial is led by the Oxford Vaccine Group and funded by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), aiming to evaluate the safety and immune response generated by the ChAdOx1 Lassa vaccine.

The agreement emerged from the Blue-Sky Visioning and Think Tank Workshop held in Johannesburg from November 25 to 27, 2025.

The survey aims to establish a national baseline on AMR prevalence, assess the distribution and burden of resistance across different regions and populations, and contribute to the global target of reducing AMR deaths by 10 percent by 2030.

Funded by a USD100, 000 grant from the World Bank, the study runs from 17 November to 12 December 2025.

The clinic addresses a critical need revealed by hospital data showing that 20% of burn cases directly result from violence against women.

The study found that over half of heart attacks in women under 65 were linked to nontraditional causes such as spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD), embolism, and other conditions unrelated to artery plaque.

The facility will serve as a central hub for driving innovation, fostering partnerships, and delivering enhanced customer support throughout the region.
