Unlike conventional open surgery, which requires large incisions in the chest and abdomen, MIE uses several small incisions, high-definition imaging, and specialized laparoscopic instruments.

The investment forms part of the hospital’s broader strategy to expand access to next-generation medical technologies despite Lebanon’s ongoing healthcare and economic challenges.

The opening follows the recent launch of the hospital’s first-of-its-kind emergency CT system in Saudi Arabia, which is designed to speed up diagnosis and treatment for stroke and trauma patients.

Following completion of the transaction, the business will operate under the new name Medswana Laborex and become part of CFAO Healthcare’s pan-African network.

The agreement also supports GlobeMed Gulf’s broader strategy of expanding access to high-quality healthcare for its growing base of insured members.
