NETHERLANDS — Royal Philips has announced new collaborations with Blue Spark Technologies, Caretaker Medical, Cuviva, LifeSignals, Respiree and smartQare to expand its open patient monitoring ecosystem and support continuous care from hospital to home.
The partnerships will enable healthcare providers to integrate wearable and out-of-hospital monitoring technologies into the Philips ecosystem.
This approach aims to give clinicians greater visibility of patients’ health status as they move between hospitals, outpatient facilities and home-based care.
Expanding monitoring beyond the hospital
As healthcare systems increasingly deliver higher-acuity services outside traditional hospital settings, maintaining access to reliable patient information across different care environments has become more important.
Philips is addressing this need through an interoperable monitoring ecosystem that allows health systems to deploy technologies according to their clinical and operational requirements.
By connecting patient data across care settings, the company aims to provide clinicians with actionable information that can support care coordination and patient management.
“Monitoring is no longer just about what happens at the bedside. Healthcare organizations need a more connected approach that helps clinicians maintain visibility into patient status across care settings,” said Sangdo Kim, Category Leader, NextGen Acute and Transitional Care Monitoring at Philips.
The partnerships expand the range of continuous patient measurements that can be integrated into Philips’ monitoring ecosystem, including the Patient Information Center (PIC) iX.
Six partners expand monitoring capabilities
Blue Spark Technologies will contribute TempTraq, a disposable wearable patch that continuously measures core body temperature.
The technology is designed to detect fever earlier, supporting patient monitoring in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Caretaker Medical will provide its VitalStream wearable solution for continuous, non-invasive blood pressure and advanced haemodynamic monitoring.
The technology is designed to support inpatient surveillance and clinical decision-making.
Cuviva, a core Hospital at Home platform partner, provides a secure digital platform for structured and scalable home-based hospital care.
Its technology supports digital monitoring, real-time communication and integration with Philips’ clinical workflows and hospital digital infrastructure.
LifeSignals will contribute its UbiqVue Multiparameter Biosensor, a single-use, wireless chest-worn device that continuously monitors two-channel ECG, oxygen saturation (SpO₂), pulse rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, posture and movement.
Its centralised software supports alert-driven monitoring across hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
Respiree will provide its 1Bio platform, 1BioAI and RS001 wearable biosensor technology for continuous cardiorespiratory monitoring.
The system measures respiratory rate and other lung-related physiological markers, as well as pulse, SpO₂, posture and activity, helping clinicians identify potential deterioration earlier.
smartQare will contribute its viQtor and Healthdot wearable biosensor technologies, which continuously monitor pulse, respiration, SpO₂, skin temperature and activity to help clinicians track patients during transitions between care settings.
Supporting care after discharge
The partnerships complement Philips’ broader connected-care portfolio, which includes technologies designed to support monitoring after patients leave hospital.
Philips Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCOT) enables clinicians to remotely monitor appropriate cardiac patients for up to 30 days following an inpatient or emergency department evaluation.
Through these collaborations, Philips is integrating a broader range of monitoring technologies into its connected-care ecosystem, supporting continuous access to patient information across different stages of care.
