The rollout follows the device’s receipt of both CE mark and UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) certification, allowing hospitals and healthcare providers in eligible European countries to begin purchasing the system.

Under the new arrangement, Remgro now owns 100% of Mediclinic’s Southern African operations through Mediclinic International, while IHL has taken full ownership of the Swiss-based Hirslanden Group.

The new status gives MKRH its own Board of Directors, an approved organizational structure, and direct funding from the National Exchequer.

The newly formed organization brings together four established healthcare brands including Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare and KIMSHEALTH, under a single platform focused on expanding access to advanced and affordable medical care across the country.

For patients, the recognition reflects a healthcare environment where nurses receive strong institutional support to deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care.

The new committee will serve as the highest oversight body for implementing the action plan by providing strategic leadership, policy direction and inter-agency coordination.

The centre will treat patients with a broad range of conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, muscular dystrophy, motor neuron disease, movement disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, ataxia, and dystonia.

Alzheimer’s disease affects more than 55 million people worldwide, and that figure is projected to nearly triple by 2050.

The expanded facility will combine inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient specialty clinics, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal care, neurosciences, sports medicine, physical medicine, and cardiac rehabilitation within a single coordinated care model.
