Under Vision 2030, the Kingdom is working to move from fragmented healthcare services towards an integrated system in which patients receive coordinated, high-quality care throughout their treatment journey.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will collaborate on patient support programmes, public health awareness campaigns, and scientific and medical education.

The consignment includes 6,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, 60 powered air-purifying respirators, 30,000 N95 masks, and more than 86,000 sample transport kits.

The DRC is the first country to adopt PDX, which connects national teams to a regional intelligence system serving all 47 Member States in the WHO African Region.

The renovation was completed through a partnership with medical supplies distributor Surgipharm Ltd and healthcare products company BSN-ESSITY, which supported the facility’s transformation into a modern treatment environment.

The facility includes ISO Class 8 cleanrooms, a secondary packaging area, quality control laboratories and a microbiology laboratory equipped for sterility testing.

The two-day conference brought together international scientists and healthcare professionals to discuss the role of the microbiome in disease, advances in rapid metagenomics, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and new approaches to predicting and managing sepsis.

The pilot operated in 43 health centres across Musanze, Karongi, Rwamagana and Ruhango districts.

A key announcement was the launch of QMicrobe, a programme designed to establish Qatar’s first dedicated paediatric donor stool bank for therapeutic research.

Unlike conventional airway surgery, the tubeless technique keeps a standard breathing tube out of the surgical field, improving visibility and access to the affected area.
