The RDHUB, launched during the 76th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa in Addis Ababa from 25 to 27 August 2026, connects information from different health programmes and systems.
The Task Force will develop options and recommendations for consideration by the Eightieth World Health Assembly.
As Chairperson, Dr. Mekdes will lead deliberations and decision-making among the 47 Member States of the WHO African Region throughout the session.
WHO Regional Director for Africa Dr. Mohamed Yakub Janabi presented the strategy during a session chaired by Ethiopia’s Minister for Health, Dr. Mekdes Daba.
During the session, participants are reviewing progress, addressing emerging health challenges and considering strategies to strengthen health systems and improve health outcomes across the continent.
More than 600 delegates are expected to attend the Region’s main annual forum for health governance and policymaking.
