LAU Health System partners with OEA Tripoli to launch Engineers Medical Clinics in North Lebanon

LEBANON — Lebanese American University Health System (LAUHS) has signed an agreement with the Order of Engineers and Architects – Tripoli (OEA Tripoli) to establish the Engineers Medical Clinics (EMC).

This multidisciplinary outpatient center will provide high-quality healthcare services for engineers, their families, and residents across Tripoli and North Lebanon.

The agreement was formalized during a ceremony held on April 28 at the headquarters of the Order of Engineers in Tripoli.

Dr. Zeina Khouri-Stevens, Executive Vice President of LAU Health System, signed on behalf of LAU President Dr. Chaouki T. Abdallah, while Eng. Chawki Fattfat, President of the Order of Engineers in Tripoli and the North, signed on behalf of OEA Tripoli.

Broad institutional support

The event drew senior representatives from Lebanon’s healthcare and professional sectors, highlighting broad support for the project.

Attendees included the President of the Order of Pharmacists in Lebanon, the Presidents of the Orders of Dentists and Physicians in the North, the General Manager of GlobeMed, the CEO of LibanoSuisse, and the Head of the Health Committee at the Municipality of Tripoli, representing the city’s mayor.

LAU also sent a senior delegation that included the CEO of LAU Medical Center–Saint John’s Hospital, the Dean of the School of Nursing, Chief Medical Officers of LAU Medical Centers, department heads, physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.

Expanding access to specialist care

The partnership aims to improve access to specialist medical care by bringing a wide range of outpatient services closer to communities in North Lebanon.

Under the agreement, OEA Tripoli will provide the institutional platform for the clinics, while LAU Health System will oversee clinical operations and service delivery.

LAUHS will manage the facility using its physician network, established medical protocols, and integrated healthcare model.

This structure is expected to support consistent standards of care and coordinated patient services.

Range of medical services

The Engineers Medical Clinics will offer consultations and treatment across multiple specialties.

These include cardiology, endocrinology, ear, nose and throat care, gastroenterology, general surgery, immunology, infectious diseases, laboratory testing, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, physiotherapy, psychiatry, pulmonology, rheumatology, and urology.

By housing these services in one location, the center aims to simplify patient access to specialist care and reduce the need for travel between facilities.

Insurance and coverage support

GlobeMed will support the initiative by facilitating healthcare coverage for OEA members and eligible beneficiaries.

Its role is expected to streamline approvals, claims processing, and patient access to covered services.

The new outpatient center marks an expansion of LAU Health System’s presence in North Lebanon while strengthening collaboration between the healthcare and engineering sectors in Tripoli.
