Sidra Medicine signs strategic agreement with Aman Hospital to elevate Qatar’s integrated healthcare delivery

The agreement establishes a framework for broader cooperation between the two institutions as they respond to changing healthcare needs in Qatar.

QATAR—Sidra Medicine, a member of the Qatar Foundation, and Aman Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen healthcare collaboration and improve access to coordinated services for patients and families across Qatar.

The agreement establishes a framework for broader cooperation between the two institutions as they respond to changing healthcare needs in Qatar.

It will bring together their clinical and operational expertise to develop coordinated care pathways, expand professional development opportunities, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge.

Prof. Ibrahim Janahi, Chief Medical Officer at Sidra Medicine, said the partnership reflects the institution’s commitment to working with healthcare providers across Qatar to strengthen coordinated, patient-centred care.

He said combining the expertise and capabilities of the two organizations would support stronger referral pathways, expand professional development and knowledge-sharing opportunities, and improve access to specialized services for patients and families.

Janahi added that Sidra Medicine looks forward to building on its collaboration with Aman Hospital to support the country’s healthcare system.

Ms. Caroline Kielty, Chief Nursing Officer at Aman Hospital, said collaboration between healthcare institutions is essential to providing seamless, high-quality care.

She said the partnership would help the two organizations combine their expertise, strengthen referral pathways, and create opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development.

Kielty added that the collaboration would support better patient outcomes while advancing professional practice and improving continuity of care.

Expanding referrals and professional development

A key focus of the MoU will be the development of stronger referral pathways between Sidra Medicine and Aman Hospital.

The arrangement will facilitate timely patient transfers and continuity of care while connecting patients and families with complementary specialized services available at both institutions.

The partnership will also provide opportunities for healthcare professionals to participate in clinical education, continuing professional development, simulation-based training and observerships.

In addition, the institutions will share knowledge and collaborate in laboratory and pathology services, as well as other specialized clinical and operational areas.

Cord blood banking partnership

Aman Hospital has also become the first private hospital to sign a separate cord blood banking agreement with Sidra Medicine.

Under the agreement, expectant parents delivering at Aman Hospital can choose to store their babies’ umbilical cord blood with Sidra Medicine.

Sidra Medicine will collect the cord blood samples and process and store them at its specialized Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility.

The facility houses Qatar’s only cord blood bank.
