Sidra Medicine to host 6th Pediatric Neuroscience Conference in Doha
The three-day program will cover a wide range of pediatric neurological and neurosurgical conditions, from common disorders to complex and rare diseases.
QATAR—Sidra Medicine, a member of the Qatar Foundation, will host the 6th Pediatric Neuroscience Conference (PNC 2026) from October 29 to 31, 2026, in Doha.
The conference will take place alongside the 3rd GCC Pediatric Neurology Conference, bringing together specialists to discuss advances in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions affecting children.
Focus on Pediatric Neurological Care
The three-day program will cover a wide range of pediatric neurological and neurosurgical conditions, from common disorders to complex and rare diseases.
Sessions will address emerging approaches in diagnosis, treatment, and patient care, while providing opportunities for healthcare professionals to exchange clinical experience and research findings.
Dr Husam Kayyali, Division Chief of Pediatric Neurology at Sidra Medicine and Chair of PNC 2026, said rapid advances in pediatric neuroscience are creating new opportunities for children with complex neurological conditions.
He highlighted genomics, precision medicine, gene therapy, and artificial intelligence as areas changing how clinicians understand, diagnose, and treat neurological diseases.
According to Kayyali, Sidra Medicine is advancing these fields through clinical care, research, and education.
He added that PNC 2026 will support knowledge exchange and contribute to the development of pediatric neuroscience in Qatar and across the region.
Gene Therapy and Artificial Intelligence
The scientific program will feature discussions on gene therapies, clinical trials for rare neurological disorders and the application of artificial intelligence in neurology and neurosurgery.
Experts will also present new research and clinical approaches to improve the management of pediatric neurological conditions.
Dr Ruba Benini, Head of the Scientific Planning Committee for PNC 2026, said the conference will provide an important platform for specialists to exchange knowledge and examine recent developments in pediatric neuroscience.
She said the scientific program was designed to address key areas of the field while bringing together expert speakers and topics that encourage learning, collaboration and continuing professional development.
Joint Regional Conference
Dr Ahmed Al Hammadi, Chair of Pediatric Medicine at Sidra Medicine, said this year’s event is significant because it combines the institution’s flagship Pediatric Neuroscience Conference with the 3rd GCC Pediatric Neurology Conference.
He said the joint event will give specialists an opportunity to share knowledge, research, and clinical practices across pediatric neuroscience, neurology, and neurosurgery.
The collaboration will also bring together professionals from Qatar, the wider Gulf region and the international community to strengthen cooperation and promote improvements in neurological care for children and their families.
PNC 2026 will take place in a hybrid format, with participants able to attend sessions in person in Doha or join virtually from other locations.
The conference has been accredited for 16.25 Continuing Professional Development hours.
The event is open to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacists, residents, students and researchers working in or interested in pediatric neuroscience.
