Schneider Electric supports PureHealth’s Net Zero 2040 goal through energy management

Under the partnership, Schneider Electric will provide PureHealth with access to its EcoStruxure Resource Advisor platform and establish a framework for developing sustainable infrastructure strategies across its facilities.

UAE—Schneider Electric and PureHealth have partnered to explore energy efficiency, digital innovation and emissions reduction across healthcare facilities in the UAE, supporting PureHealth’s target of achieving net zero emissions by 2040.

The collaboration combines Schneider Electric’s expertise in energy management, automation, artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability consulting with PureHealth’s network of hospitals, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, health technology services and insurance operations across the region.

Energy management and digital transformation

Under the partnership, Schneider Electric will provide PureHealth with access to its EcoStruxure Resource Advisor platform and establish a framework for developing sustainable infrastructure strategies across its facilities.

The platform will help PureHealth consolidate environmental, social and governance (ESG) data and track Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, as well as relevant Scope 3 emissions across its operations and value chain.

It will also support energy efficiency initiatives, Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring, predictive maintenance and sustainability reporting.

The companies will also explore sustainable building design, green building certifications and circular economy practices.

These measures could help healthcare operators manage energy consumption, improve infrastructure performance and strengthen emissions reporting as sustainability requirements expand across the sector.

Schneider Electric Chief Executive Officer Olivier Blum said healthcare providers have an opportunity to improve the sustainability, efficiency and resilience of their operations.

He said the collaboration would explore ways to combine electrification, digitalisation, automation and sustainability expertise to accelerate decarbonisation while improving operational performance.

PureHealth Group Chief Executive Officer Shaista Asif said integrating sustainability into healthcare facility design and operations could strengthen long-term performance while supporting better health outcomes for communities.

Supporting UAE climate targets

The partnership comes as the UAE strengthens its climate commitments.

The country has pledged to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and, under its third Nationally Determined Contribution, targets a 47% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2035.

The UAE Climate Change Law, which took effect in May 2025, also requires entities to measure, report and reduce their emissions.

In Abu Dhabi, the Department of Health has set a target for the healthcare sector to reduce carbon emissions by 20% by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050.

PureHealth has set its own net zero target for 2040, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, and reported a 37% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity between 2022 and 2024.

The collaboration will support PureHealth’s efforts to monitor emissions, identify energy-saving opportunities and align facility operations with its sustainability commitments.

For healthcare operators, integrating energy data with digital infrastructure management can also help inform investment decisions, maintenance planning and long-term operating costs.
