UAE’s Emerging Global Technologies acquires stake in Koios Medical to expand GCC ultrasound AI

Under the agreement, EGT will oversee the rollout of Koios DS™ Breast and Koios DS™ Thyroid across key GCC markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

UAE—Emerging Global Technologies (EGT) has expanded its strategic partnership with Koios Medical to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence solutions in ultrasound imaging across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

The agreement builds on an existing collaboration between the two companies and reflects a deeper commitment to scaling AI-driven clinical tools in everyday diagnostic workflows.

As part of the enhanced partnership, EGT has also acquired an equity stake in Koios Medical, signaling long-term confidence in the company’s technology and growth trajectory.

In addition, EGT will now function as a strategic extension of Koios Medical in the region, focusing on market expansion, clinical engagement, and customer success support to ensure smoother adoption across healthcare systems.

Regional deployment of AI diagnostic tools

Under the agreement, EGT will oversee the rollout of Koios DS™ Breast and Koios DS™ Thyroid across key GCC markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

These AI-enabled platforms are designed to provide real-time, evidence-based risk assessments that help radiologists identify potential abnormalities more consistently and quickly.

By integrating directly into clinical workflows, the solutions help reduce diagnostic variability and improve reporting accuracy in alignment with internationally recognized BI-RADS® and TIRADS® standards.

This structured approach supports radiologists in making more informed decisions while enhancing standardization across imaging departments.

Global clinical adoption and validation

Koios Medical’s technology continues to gain traction globally, with adoption reported across leading healthcare institutions such as MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid, Northwestern Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Mass General Brigham, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Thailand, and Al Habib Medical Group.

This growing footprint reflects increasing confidence in AI-assisted imaging tools, particularly in breast and thyroid diagnostics, where early and accurate detection plays a critical role in patient outcomes.

The company’s expanding clinical presence underscores its focus on integrating machine learning into routine diagnostic care.

Leadership perspectives on the partnership

Sassine Mazraani, CEO of EGT, emphasized the strategic intent behind the collaboration, noting that the company aims to go beyond distribution by enabling meaningful clinical adoption.

He highlighted that the partnership reflects a long-term investment in embedding AI technologies into healthcare systems across the GCC, with a focus on measurable clinical value and operational efficiency.

Chad McClennan, President and CEO of Koios Medical, described the partnership as a shared effort to broaden access to advanced diagnostic tools.

He noted that closer collaboration with EGT would help clinicians improve care delivery, enhance diagnostic confidence, and streamline workflows in increasingly complex healthcare environments.

Expanding momentum for AI in medical imaging

Across recent developments in the global medtech landscape, AI-assisted imaging continues to gain momentum as healthcare systems prioritize digital transformation and precision medicine.

In the GCC region, hospitals and diagnostic centers are increasingly exploring AI integration to support radiology departments facing rising patient volumes and workforce constraints.

Within this evolving environment, the partnership between EGT and Koios Medical positions both organizations to contribute to the broader shift toward intelligent, data-driven imaging systems designed to improve diagnostic efficiency and patient care delivery.
