Made Scientific acquires Pennsylvania cell therapy facility to expand US manufacturing network
The facility can produce starting materials, drug substances and drug products using customised processes as well as technology transferred from established manufacturing platforms.
USA—Made Scientific has acquired an 85,000 ft² cell therapy manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania from National Resilience, expanding its manufacturing network on the US East Coast.
The facility, located in East Norriton, Pennsylvania, is already operational, allowing Made Scientific to onboard programmes without waiting for a new construction and qualification period.
The company plans to use the site to support clinical and commercial cell therapy supply from 2027.
Made Scientific has completed 145 good manufacturing practice (GMP) manufacturing batches across autologous and allogeneic cell therapy programmes.
These include chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) and B cell therapies.
The facility is designed for large-scale, end-to-end cell therapy manufacturing.
It includes eight Grade B and C cleanrooms, a Grade C ballroom, and a Grade B fill-finish suite.
It also has quality control and analytical testing laboratories, high-bay warehousing and 30,000 ft² of space available for expansion.
According to the company, the site could eventually accommodate eight additional ballrooms as manufacturing requirements increase.
Expanded manufacturing capabilities
The facility can produce starting materials, drug substances and drug products using customised processes as well as technology transferred from established manufacturing platforms.
Made Scientific also plans to upgrade the site with scalable 3D bioreactor platforms with capacities of up to 200 litres.
Other planned additions include advanced cell harvesting equipment, automated fill-finish systems and lyophilisation capabilities.
Following the acquisition, Made Scientific’s total manufacturing footprint on the US East Coast will increase to 145,000 ft².
Its network will include 15 qualified GMP suites, as well as development and quality control laboratories across the East Norriton facility and its existing site in Princeton, New Jersey.
The company expects the Princeton facility to undergo a US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pre-licensure inspection in early 2027, followed by an inspection of the East Norriton site.

Made Scientific Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Syed Husain said acquiring an operational facility with an experienced manufacturing team would expand the company’s ability to support clients as their cell therapy programmes progress from clinical development to commercial production.
He said sponsors advancing therapies toward regulatory approval need manufacturing capacity that is available when their programmes are ready to scale.
Made Scientific operates as a contract development and manufacturing organisation focused on autologous and allogeneic cell therapy products. Its facilities are located in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
In November 2025, Made Scientific and Cellergy Therapeutics entered into a manufacturing partnership to support the development of Cellergy’s CLG-001 mitochondrial therapy toward first-in-human studies.
